  2. Hi all, on the night of 30th Oct thieves got into my garden whilst I was in the house, opened my kennels and made off with a sprocker spaniel bitch. Police were called, an area search made but nothing was found. This is a pic of the bitch. She is 7. She has a horizontal scar on her breastbone, and long docked tail. I can be contacted via this site if anyone has any information. Cheers.

  9. Use mk4's (strong) and place (covered with earth) them in a false holt that you have dug into a river/stream bankside. They can also be snared with a corrupted rabit snare either end of a pipe . Good luck.
  10. Get lonicera shrubs, they grow anywhere. available from tree or shrub merchants quite cheaply; several varieties, some low and ground covering, others a little taller and bushy. Phesants love it. Good luck.
  11. cheers lads, I have been in contact with the www.plasticbarrel people.
  12. I'm looking for metal barrels to make into feeders, I would prefer 40gall drums with lids, but would also take any drums available (the bigger the betterm and the more the merrier). I'd also be interested in any barrels already made into feeders. Anyone? Andy.
  13. you can only piss with the cock you've got!
  14. Hi there, I'm looking for a box, post a picture if you can and we may have a deal.
  15. Hi all, Just thought I'd put my twopenneth in re snaring. Up here in Scotland the new snaring guide is law. Rolfe has it right, the snare is a device to hold a target animal only. The emphasis upon a more professional approach to snaring has come about because in the lonely wilderness up here, snares have for years been set anywhere and everywhere. Some did not get checked very often at all and realistically every one set was intended to kill whatever went in it (that's what we all did, wasn't it) . There is open access up here so people can wander about at will; with just about everyone
  16. Everyone join the RSPB...........then vote for a monitored and site specific limited cull for raptors..........cut the numbers where they are a problem,....leave the rest, ...........job done.
  17. Is fish that good? I'd be worried about it not working and maybe putting them off and the trap would stink of fish for ages making it useless but if it works I might try it. Cheers, gnipper Fish is best pal, even tinned fish like sardines, like the other poster said, part bury them under the trap, put a covering of soil over the wire floor of the trap and "robert's ya muvvers bruvver".........try it, it works
  18. Anyone seen tonights emmerdale????????? Just watched a bloke portraying a keeper setting snares for foxes through a fence.........what's wrong with that you ask???.. well all the young lads on this iste hoping to be keepers will know that the "code of practise" suggests it's wrong to set 'em through the fence but ok parallel with it...then again it was a self locking snare!!! which everyone on here and beyond will know has been illegal for years!!! To top that, it looked like the snare was fixed to a bit of wood unlikely to hold a fox for about a half a second!! And then finally I thi
  19. previous poster is right. good funnels should invite the pheasant in........ make them big enough for a full grown fat bird to get in easily, say 10" diameter tapering down to about 6"........I make my funnels about 18" long ....that way the trapped birds can't work out how to get back out again....good luck.
  20. Good luck with the dog mate, I had one lost for seven days, no collar, no idea which earth he was in...............turned up dirty, thin and otherwise ok, seven days later. gave him food, drink and a good bath, tended to a cut or two and he was right as rain. Here's hoping you have the same sort of luck.
  21. All we have done to replace emtryl is to be ever more thorough with hygiene............hyperchlorite is pretty good..........wash everything, again and again. Our results have got better through basic good practise, not reying on a a cure all medicine.
