hopefully she will stick at it now pal glad your bitch has turned for the better, while out digging did you use to try her 1st ? sounds daft but with a bitch i use to have if we tried her 1st she would enter connect and stay but once we started digging above her she would come out and come running to were we was, maybe because i dead ended her to many times as a young dog ?, but if we tried her later in the day after she had bein tied up watching a couple of digs, she would go and stay as she was more keen, , atb i had a few digs to her before but we try differnt dogs each

any dog can worry sheep even if stock broken it only takes one slip ,even if he has never seen a deer ,i know that if hes on deer the whole time the risk is greater but i just think a dog knows the difference between a deer and a sheep

scent mate all been there u need to start digging with genuine digging men you have to learn off them remenber the man on top of ground has to be as good as the dog undergroundwhen u get a good dog uknow then iv paid thousands for so called digging dogs and well bred terriers theres a few good terriermen in waterford go to them for ur pups and asks to go along for dig too see parent working they say everyman will get one great dog keep trying my opinion keep the faith sound fionn iv been offered a few pups off some of the good terrier man down here some lads you know well bit il bring on t

sounder and his mate jamie called down to me today to try a terrier that was for sale down here.Nothing at home in the first few places but the next spot was holding .It was a huge set with over a dozen entrances and the terrier bolted a fox.We still wanted to see him work more cause we didnt get a dig so off we went to another big rangey place.We dropped the dog and he was on straight away but to the owners disappointed he came away from the quarry and didnt want to go in again.I dropped my bitch that was on her last chance.She got the run around for a bit but we finally got a steady reading

well im just back in from digging .I had a good dig to my bitch that was on her yellow card .Sounder was down to try a dog and he didnt work out so dropped my bitch and had a good dig to her so im happy enough with her work today

i think every case would be differnt scent it depends on the quary a lot and i think the ground you work i.e tight earths small bitch old sets big dog horses for corses but when it happens and you know the dog is 100 per sent its the bolllocks i understand what you mean pal ,i suppose if your start buying working dogs instead of pups it might happen aolt sooner aswell scent the only way you ll get workers is to rear well bred pups and take your chance who in there right mind is going too sell a proper working terrier think about what your saying i know what your saying dee but in fairne

iv had my fair share of bad luck the last few year myself.I started off buying so called well bred pups that were really off shit that i later learned.I had a few digs with them but they walked when the goin got tough.At the moment iv another 2 well bred pups here ,one of which is a russell bitch and a pattxrussell that i got off kevin m .Even the working bitch i have here at the moment is on a yellow card.Just seems like a never ending cycle to try get a right good dog or bitch.Sometimes i feel like bashing me head off a wall
