    I was once told by a good dog man now sadly passed away that there was no such things as expert lurcher men as every dog was different and the sport whatever quarry you pursued was never the same as every course,dig or nights lamping whatever was always different but i take it that MOO and Wilf are the exceptions to this as they seem to be the foremost authorities on the subject.     Catcher Couldn't agree wae you more mate.Around here every "dogman" has the latest cross that is in vogue just now it is bull x's a few years back it was saluki x's and as you quite rightly pointed out they seem to think all lurchers are all rounders but sadly this is not the case as each different x has it's strengths and weaknesses(although you do get the odd exception) and once these binlids realise there dog is not suitable for a certain aspect of our sport it is either passed on to one of their cronies or unceremoniously dumped on the street to fend for theirselves and we all know the mo

    Wholeheartedly agree around here it is the same in the two local villages near me there is about 20 "dogmen" and only 2 of them are for real and i would imagine it is the same the length and breadth of the country

    Sound a handy beast Skycat but have to agree with Undisputed and do you not think your dog has turned out as well as it has is down to you giving the time and opportunities in the type of area you describe and if the dog had been another type of cross a collie,whippet or even a bull cross it would have ended up the same due to YOU educating the dog in this area and giving it the chances at prey???
