    Having a bet o 4 dogs chasing a hare! did they have jackets on with strips and numbers? oh dont tell me the person who reported it didnt look properlie. If you dont know how the bets are carried out why comment about that side of it? As for 4 dogs on one hare to be honest that amount of dogs all slipt at once helps a hare as they get in one anothers way. Iv seen heaps of "cavary charges" at end of a day just to give dogs exercise that ant run yet, and most hares get away. Some of englands top coursing men are romany gypsies your all right in irland anyway most your tinkers are over

    not all travellers mate i would never nick anuver mans dogs.and theres a lot of travellers got there eye out looking for brookies dogs im a traveller so dont run them down theres good and bad in all walks of life sume bad sume good.brookies good friend with sume of us and if we new were hes dogs was we would try and get them back for him.     every one has a dig about me putting this question up. well 8 pages later and its neck and neck so it must ring true with afew on here. all I care about is working my dogs no shows and there not pets.     When you were single and in the pubs, i was out with the dogs Testosterone my arse....perhaps a desire to work dogs, to see the dogs doing well, and to treat prey with the respect it deserves. It has nothing at all to do with testosterone or being hard nosed. A person, male or female needs compassion & emotion to do the job properly. Plus if you have dogs for the jobs, you dont have to dispatch that often You wont find me in a dark alley, father always taught me to stay away from them, never know what kind of weird men might be lurking in them your dogs must be real "CRUNCHE

    ladys all coming out the wood work when I speak, ah if only it was like this down the pubs when I was single! If when my daughter grows up she wants to be a lurcher women ill be happy as long as she can roll her sleves up when animals need dispatching and show the hard nose attitude needed to end up with decent stock. To be honest id say testeron gets you on the coursing feild or digging to terreirs I hope theres women who can prove me wrong but if so i bet I wouldnt want to met her in a dark ally. seems a lot of women on hear have pictures of them posing I wonder if you ment to go on

Then look down there nose at people like myself who keep dogs outside in kennels and use them purley as hunting companions. Get a grip or better still get out with your dog and stop bitching The dogs are having a night off. Dont worry about me getting out i bet iv caught more rabbits in the last two weeks than youv slipt your dogs on in there life.

    Iv Noticed a lot of people who seem to have no intrest in hunting with lurchers using the lurcher section regular as this is a "hunting site" (clue in its name) surley in the long run this must be a bad thing! I like to hear from people who at least do a bit !

    In the last year an half - ive had 3 bitch's come down with pyo and one die of inflamotory carsonoma which had ruptured, all were over the ages of 10, the bitch with carsonoma we didnt treat - so except for pts and cremation, didnt cost much, two of the bitchs cost me about £450 each for full hysto spay and the 3rd bitch cost me over 1500 as she had to be rushed to the emergency vets, had a full hysto spay and had complications, due to her having pancritus(sp) all 4 dogs were fit and healthy for there ages, no signs of age related problems, one of the bitchs who was spayd, needs to go

    theres no lampers and no shooting on one side of my permission 100% but few rabbits or hares 10 year ago there were hares all over it.All thats increased is raptors.

    in certain spots theres been a loss of alot of rabbits and hares round here. KITES AND BUSARDS are to blame. The fox has always remained stable in numbers for years. what defense has a hare on open land got against raptors of this size. people say they are scavengers but thats not treu I.M.O why would an animal equiped with such weponry not kill for food. It can be no coincidence one species saws in number and the others decrease.

    Castrating or spaying surely should only be carried out for medical reasons in a working dog. If your dog ends up average or poor you wouldnt breed from it. But what if your dog turns out a realy good worker what a waste that is and a shame for the breed, not to past on such traits in the futer. In the futer if you ever need to sell the dog it renders it worth less to a lot of working men. I only keep bitches but wouldnt buy a spayed bitch how ever good she is in the feild. the way I look at it is if a dogs not good enougth to breed its not good enougth to feed. When I hear people say
