  1. Just watched it on the news and have been sat there with a mate wondering about a few of the facts they quoted. I think the storey is a bit bendy and twisty, but someone has been made an example of for something thats for sure. How do they get various wild Falcons to adopt the ones they hatched and put back in nests, this is what they showed themselves to be doing on the news. How does it work??
  2. Pleanty of rabbits around Perran to say the least!! The closest you could get a charter around there is Newquay. Your only half an hour from the south coast though and charter boats are a pleanty over there. All the best.
  3. Well done mate, what weight, I guess towards 50Lb? Cheers, D. yeah spot on bud, mid 50's
  4. Shark fishing pics. We had two takes and one landed, this is my mate with his Blue. I had a good take and hit it hard getting a good second run out of the shark but then it all went slack leaving me with nothing but my thoughts. To be honest though I dont think I would have landed it because for the time it was on it felt like being hooked up to a car going the other way.
  5. Thanks bud, we are going out on "Bessie V"
  6. Going out on the big tide this Thursday to try a bit of shark fishing, bit different from rock hopping and yak fishing but i will give it a go. I'm taking the camera so hope to have a pic of a Blue or two to put up. Not often i get out to fish in such depths, what else might you be able to target whilst out shark fishing in case it got dull ??
  7. Depends what County your in and what accent you have.
  8. Thanks bud. The important thing here is the welfare of the birds and NOT money, Right person, right price and all that !!
  9. We ended up with three quite large healthy looking young HH,s. One of the females is staying with us leaving a male and female to go.
  10. As stated, one male & one female. Please PM for details but only if genuinely interested. Cornwall.
  11. Is the "curly birch" easy come by bud ?
  12. Mint, pick a few clumps and rub it over the cage and leave a few bits sticking out of the mesh on you cage. Most sorts of mint seem to work but some are especially good, i have one sort growing that is a golden leaf and smells quite citrusy and seems to really repel the flies. Its worth trying anything out of the herb garden, if its aramatic and quite pleasent then chances are that flies dont like it.
  13. The refrence to perch hights was only that it could have been a reason for the eggs not being fertile. "Jasper" suggested that i might need to lower perch hights to make sure the male had pleanty of clearance above him for treading. I wouldnt like to start guessing the reasons for what you are mentioning bud, if i can give you any advice its to PM "Jasper" and get his take on it. All the best bud.
  14. Proper job Jasper, thanks again.
  15. Our female sat three eggs last season that turned out to be infertile. I took a bit of advice from Jasper regarding perch heights in the flight and she is sitting five eggs, two of which have just hatched. What do you breeders of bops use to hold the close rings on please and is it three days at which they go on, ps Thanks Jasper.
  16. "Tis TM" found this stick in a woods where I fly my Harris, it looked to have been cut a long time ago and left against a tree. I dried it out for a while and took the old bark off and the old rotten vine out that had given it its twist, stuck a few old fox teeth in the groove and let an old coin (farthing) in to the top. Bit of whipping with the net making string for a grip and a copper sleeve with a two quid coin in the bottom for the hard waring base. Rubbed a bit of oil and wax over it and job done, i was going for a rustic look so its meant to look a bit rough
  17. sh1t hot TM, iv been keeping quiet and following this from the start with much trepidation. Good job there is them that give a fek!!
  18. White dogs dont glow in the dark! However, take one out on those nights when a glint of sharp moon is sporadically popping out from behind the clouds and you have a light bulb on the end of your slip. Bit of a blackthorn rip on its ear and it does look like something out of a B-movie horror classic, but not the end of the world right?. Good dog is still a good dog and a sh1t-un is as such regardless of colour, you do see more ugly white dogs than any other colour it seems though!!??
  19. Keep a close eye on this bud, it sounds too much like the beginnings of what a dog of mine experienced. Started off as mild fits set off by exertion that caused the dog to appear a bit shaky and uncoordinated and got worse and more regular.
