    The usual call from the chicken farm was greeted with I have to say ,a bit of reluctance but if I don’t do it then you know the score . Cubbing time isn’t my favourite for control but is when fox damage is at its peak . The wife likes to use the thermal and to be honest she’s pretty good with it . The chaps that shut the chicken in were just leaving when we arrived and said they’d seen a fox running away with a chicken as they drove in ? Loaded the .222 and fired up the thermal .Few deer ,a badger and several rabbits could be seen from where we park but no fox .Walking up

    Not one but two eyed hawk moths out last night .Was quite warm and saw them both on the thermal .

    Maybe you are easily pleased mate but I’m a bit more sceptical .Ive been to many so called sightings around me and all I’ve seen evidence of is dogs .A spate of sheep killings 2 months ago was supposed to be a cat but all I found was dog prints and a deerhound cross was shot by the farmer in the act of pulling a sheep’s guts out .I think grey man would of turned it into a definite cat scene lol. l actually would love to see one as I’ve reserved a spot on the wall for a mount .

    I totally agree about pure baying dogs mate and the notion that one can dig educated stuff with it seems odd ,either that or the dog sits back so you have to trench on .The stuff dosnt have to be educated to produce good dogs either but just my opinion .

    Can’t disagree with that but that’s more to do with the abundance than the need to educate anything in the first place .These dogs that do work the educated stuff ,how often do they see the inside of an earth .Once or twice a month or do you work them sore . Id rather a dog out every chance i get than sat back smuggly thinking I had a good un in sick bay .Just an observation .

    Good point Rob ,it’s also true many get educated by shit dogs that go in give the thing a hard time and back out wagging tales with the thing never dug or the earth looking like a bomb site . I remember an artificial round me where the thing used to come down the tube before the dog was fully in ,harassed by hunt terriers week in week out .

    I’m positive some on here don’t actually keep terriers nor do any digging just glean information off others and off sites like this . Quite a few on here only seem to want to make snide comments but when there’s a debate have no experiences to call upon or did it once making them f***ing masters on the subject .

    I’ve been set up a few times over the bridge by lads who knew I don’t like the results of educated quarry and thought my dogs not up to it . They have different views now however . I remember being lead to a 3 holer in deepest darkest Wales and not aware I was being set up by my so called 3 mates . Try your dog they said .Uncoupled the bitch ,the very same Holly bitch ,dam to my youngster on here . The silence should of told me all was not well but I let her in all the same .
