I'm getting there Moletrapper but not average sized yet !, managed to shed a bit of timber since Christmas but still the wrong side of 17 stone, but at 6'6" dont suppose that's too bad. Dont envy you at size 14 mate, the choice seems to become a bit restricted to say the least. But at least God makes sure everything is in proportion !!

Just finished reading the posts, what a bunch of so and so's but pmsl, very good ! Missus got me the boots for a pressie but reckon they probably came from one of the mainstream chains , there is a website www.kayland.com or something like that! They are very good boots, warm and waterproof but a liitle to rigid for my liking so have been demoted to my fishing cupboard which is a bit of a waste.

Off to a nice start fella, well done.

DEERHUNTER MOLESKIN TROUSERS *FOR SALE*
BIGPETE replied to BIGPETE's topic in Optics and Night Vision
Sorry mate, already sold to another forum member. -
1 Pair moleskin trousers, fully lined and with deertex membrane in between the two layers so breathable and waterproof, the outer moleskin fabric is also treated with teflon so it does not readily take on water. These must be the warmest and best trousers I have ever owned, much more robust than the Ram style. Worn a couple of times but only for fishing so in A1 condition. When checked against the label I found the inside leg measurment was 33", waist as per label. This is the last item from my clearout and a reluctant sale but middle age spread and an office job has taken its toll !! *****N

They're further north than that, saw one at first light last spring !

Well here goes! 2008 is now here and I have set my self a target of attaining my dsc 1 and if possible dsc 2. I have been out stalking several times on cull days for both fallow does and red hinds and have been fortunate enough to get a trophy fallow buck. I would now like the independence and responsibility of owning my own rifle/rifles and to be able to stalk unaccompanied. The theoretical side of things and the marksmanship do not worry me a bit, but the carcass handling ie gralloching in the field and then the skinning and butchering is something that I would like to gain more experience

Yeh, thanks for that, just about managed it seeing as how it is not in joined up writing !! If YOU read the other threads, at any speed you feel comfortable, but try without moving your lips though! you will see that not withstanding the slightly elongated explanation on the effects of a canted rifle, no one disagrees with you. The thing is, all that happened is the guy ended up with a couple more options to look at, not to try and confuse or overwhelm him but to try and help him out of a fix. It may well be that none of the suggestions work but at least we have been constructive and tried to

Paddy You just answered the question yourself........but when i mount it left handed i cant see a thing, its just like a mirror of what is behind me:...you are NOT looking down the tube...your eye alignment is out if you can see a reflection of what is behind you, you should not be able to see anything behind you at all because your eye/head should be right behind the tube! Mad al I don't see there is any need for the "University Challenge bollox" bit, shooting is not all about picking up a gun and pulling the trigger (as this thread demonstrates). I am convinced this has a simple an

I reckon it's probably on of the following 1. The stock is not ambi so the comb is missing when shooting from the opposite hand causing eye alignment to be well out. 2. You may have a lead eye. ie stronger/better vision in one eye and when changing to the other this will become much more apparent which will mean the eye bell/focus ring will be well out causing sighting difficulties. If the eye relief is wrong you would have problems also. Both these problems will stop you shooting well but you would still be able to use the scope, in a fashion anyway!. 3. I have seen a guy that could use bo

Well done mate, sounds like you had a belting day. I dont have my own permission/fac yet so have only been out on paid cull days and one trophy stalk with the estate rifle but I loved every minute of it. Good post, very good read, well done again. regards, Pete.

No worries Kreet, I am not trying to take sides fella, just expressing my surprise at such a strong reaction. The use of such language and other inflamatory text from any forum members would have resulted in bans from another forum I use. Other than that mate, which is only my opinion after all, do what ever you like, its nowt to do with me, I'm only here to enjoy the chat about the activities I enjoy. Pete.
