  1. the castrate one is fairly easy going but I dontknow yet about the kit until he matures a bit lol
  2. We hunt on here and most people skin their carcasses before eating!
  3. I think i may follow all this advise and get 1 snipped. Would he be able to live with my entir hob and a castrated hob? I have a hob kit which will stay entire and it would be a bugger to have to have seperate hutches
  4. sorry I didnt see that post. I did post on that but you deleted it and told me to put it up as a seperate thread. I will take my uncle out for lunch or somit to say thanks, or he will do it as a b-day pressent. He said it is quite fiddly with ferrets and thats why he tries not to do many. And ive also found that many vets dnt seem to like them.
  5. yes. I think that there was a silver hob for sale somewhere? Do you know what the rate for vasectomising a ferret is? My uncle said he doesnt do many and it is quite high prices where he is but I will ring my vet in the morn
  6. in the old days? its 2008 and we are now civilised enough to have things called a 'v e t' thats VET we dont have clubs and have to skin animals to eat brwaaaaa , as in your 11 year old vet ? like i said keep them clean if you cant get near a snipped hob now i do like this bit : now now now what does that sound like ??? you are a wrong un in my eyes Do you actually work your ferrets jojoa?
  7. if you care enough about an animal why leave them open to the risk? Im not saying that I do its just that it must be possible to. Because of the past. I have only owned ferrets this year so havent got much experience on this topic but i just think if it happened back then then it must still be ok for it to happen nower days
  8. All i am saying is if your uncles a vet & he has given you advice over the phone before , just ring him & ask if he thinks the jill jab only works for a couple off weeks as you have been told , that way you get to find out from someone thats more likely to understand how the jill jab works & if its worth doing rather than hoping you can find someone with a vasectomised hob to use Yes. My mate said his jills (3) kept coming back into season and has had to hae them jabbed heaps already. And I think that it can damage them if they have too many, will a kit be ready to be vasectom
  9. I know that but they managed so that means it is possible for us to manage. and it is not garenteed that you will lose a jill if its not brought out of season
  10. There isnt much point going all he way up to him for a jill jab lol. Im not starting a debate lol i just was wondering if anyone had a vasectomised hob.
  11. I know many people which ferreted a long time ago and never bred from their jills. They must have died every year lol
  12. because a frend of mine said his kept coming in after the jab, a few weeks and it as costing a small fortune. I would just liketo have a hob in mind incase i need it after the jab
  13. Do you eve work your ferrets jojoa because in the old days I bet that not all ferrets were bred every year and also that not every jill died. They wouldnt of had injections then or vasectomised hobs
  14. I think that bigredbusa is a decent guy and everyone (I think You are pet owners) seems to quick to slag him off. He gave me some good acurate advise and along with kay, sue and a few others on this site he is someone which I would approachif I ever had problems again. So back off
  15. Yes I am planning to but I will keep staying with the jab and hopefully borrowing this season because I will have a few more jills next year and it will be worth me getting one done in the winter. I may buy a kit and get it done next year.
  16. Hi, I was wondering if anyone around bodmin has a vasectomised hob could put my jill to? the vet is giving her a jab on friday but it would be good to have a hob in mind for future reference! cheers
  17. NoI havent had it fixed yet but it will be soon. I just need to find the money. I am sending to a smith the minute I have enough
  18. It can be quite packed in and can spring out and hit you quite hard apparently. I have never done it before but I would say take to the gunsmiths
