Works perfectly. As long as the number of guns is divisible by a whole number, with the rotations based on a different whole number, there are no conflicts. If 11 or 7 guns, then I work on guns +1 leaving a spare peg. We had 12 Guns (3 guests) out yesterday on 8 drives and no problems. All of the guests thought it was an excellent method.

Hi Four years ago, I joined a local shoot as a beater. Not knowing much at all about shooting, I was interested in how the guns knew where to stand. Obviously, there were peg markers, but how did the guns know which peg to stand on? It was all down to drawing a number. However, most of the guns got confused and forgot their numbers. Before each drive, we would have the situation where Shoot Captain and Keeper would have to position the guns on the right pegs. With 6 drives, and 9 guns, a rotation method was needed, so I came up with a laminated card which shows rotated drive numbe

Pic's taken yesterday. They say that they're Monitors, but actively try to disrupt hunt and intimidate supporters. Keep an eye out for them in the Northwest.

Hi All Has anyone in the Henley-in-Arden, Alcester, Studley, Redditch areas, lost a long-legged Russell, or does anyone know of anyone who has lost a Parson terrier within this area. The dog has been found and is being kept at the finders home. Please PM me for details. Proof of ownership will be required by the finder.

My wife caught the dog having a rest after a shower. The first pic was taken about an hour before.

Hi PM me, and I'll put you in touch with a Mink Hunt based in the South, near the Border. If you're genuine, you'll be invited out with them. If not.........................!!!!!

There's a couple of Springers up the road from me that will dig well deep into Mole Hills, and this they picked up from a Russell that I had called Rags. If they dig like terriers, then why not rat like terriers.

Mink, Rats, Pheasants, but nothing too deep. Take a look at the following links, and you'll see the story. http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=148499 http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=148641

What about these as an opener.

Is that pure white, as in no colour at all, even on the head, or can the head be patched?

Sorry Watchman, I messed up and didn't include the photos. If you go to the other topic with the same title, it carries on there. -

Dyslexic or Down-under? "What's that Skippy...............you say they're both the same thing!!!" Joking apart, if you're interested in the lines, PM me and I'll send you copies of their Pedigree Certificates. Here's another photo, ages 6 months and 18 months. -

+1 mate. Great looking dogs, how are they bred? Usual way. The Dog mounts the Bitch and gets a sort of pelvic wobble going. His eyes go all glazed and then he thinks he's married, because he can't get away from her. :boogie: -

Now now Mouse. The last time that you saw the big one (now 3 years old), it was two years ago. Since then, we've taken many of the local Hunts Minks off the river from my home to The Avon. He's also very good at putting Pheasants up during the shooting season, something that Parsons aren't renown for. The younger one (Dylan) is a pain in the arse. Let him off, and he thinks he's a Fox Hound. He'll follow an early morning scent for miles, and thats the big problem with him. There are two earths, each within 200 yards of the local Church that the local Fox Hunt (your Hunt) know nothing ab -

Hi All Watchman got it in one; well nearly. Each pic is of a separate Parson Russell digging for the biggest dog mink that I've seen. It was so fast, I couldn't get my camera out before it shot down and under this riverside tree. The pic's are of two dogs, taking it in turns. A full hour and a quarter was spent on this hole, and nearby holes, but I didn't have a spade with me, so it was all down to the dogs. The Dobbies dog was brought to keep them company! The mink must have been sitting up inside the trunk, because eventually the dogs dug so deep, you could see through th

Hi All Here's a bit of a spring puzzle for you. Out this morning with the dogs at 06:30 BST, and they spotted something of interest, first of the year. What type of terrier is digging, and what's he digging for? Answer tommorow.

Hi Bed I've got two Parsons, both a tad under 15" at the shoulder.

Yesterday! Depends on the water temperature, but we had our first day out (see 'Unlucky Mink' thread on Lurchers, Running Dogs and Hounds Section) yesterday. Most packs start around Easter, but with Easter being early this year, I'd suggest that most will be up and away by mid-April. Season will finish late September to mid-October and overlaps Autumn Hunting, which makes for some very long days. Where are you based? Go to the following address for a list of Hunts (http://www.horseandhound.co.uk/competitionnews/article.php?aid=37804). Not all Hunts publish their details, because of

It would be wise to check with God before you chew on HIS mink. Go to the following site. http://www.horseandhound.co.uk/competition...e.php?aid=37804 It will show the majority of Mink Hunts in the UK. There are more, but they do not publish their existence, because of anti activity. I've had run-ins with these people and they're not pleasant, but an 18 Stone Loose Head Prop Forward can look after himself. The best way, is to visit one of the accessible packs and ask around, or consider setting one up. The secret is to get hold of just one Entered Hound. The rest o

Most Mink Packs consist of elderly or useless Fox Hounds, which are normally drafted from Fox Hunts. Unlike Fox Hunts, breeding does not take place to maintain a line. Some Mink Hunts choose to use Welsh Fox Hounds (Woollies), some English, but generally a mix of the two. Otter hounds, either crosses or pure bred are evident in some packs, but there are problems when 'The Big Boy' is encountered. It's at this point that the huntsman recognises the signs, and gets well off the water until the area is cleared. Cheers Rags
