It's how big the land is mate an there's no run offs for the rain water to go when the dykes are full when its rained heavy. On fields you've got tree lines that soak up most rain an cover. Come on katch what's up. It does mate it's hard work more stress than dogs but if you get it right the rewards are good. Was chatting to an old breeder from down London couple of seasons back now. He was saying that id done well to start breeding sib goldfinches. To get them to pair up is hard but to breed an get there dietary right is another thing. I've got all dimmers artificial lighting in one of my rooms an heating. Am talking to a couple of lads from over seas belgium an Netherlands who are top breeders good knowledge helped me alot mate. If your the breeder defo mate your right there you can hold back an choose. But to lads that are just buying a sqeeker at 8 weeks never had a saluki type before it's luck that he's got a decent one out of the liter. The breeder can hold back on pups an has a better chance of it not being luck can't he.

Most saluki types can kill hares mc you know that box standard urchers can kill hares. But to get one that's going out an knocking 4s an 5s over on the big land takes some doing. An you have to have luck on your side too that you've got a decent one out of the liter that's fearless not afraid to use its mouth up an at them at all costs.. No holding back till its too late letting the hare build confidence which you'll of seen when there just plodding about. Just because its selective breeding doesn't mean your going to produce something decent. It's luck of the draw that you've got the breeding right that both of the hounds genetics are right for each other. You can't tell by just thinking because there both decent dogs they will just gel it doesn't work like that. That's why alot are line bred to try hopefully keep that fire in the pups. But then again that doesn't always work. But there's no talking to you lad.

They've all put in the hard work but they've dropped on lucky out of the litter to pick a decent one cause its luck. We'll how come all the litter didn't make the grade. Dont take this the wrong way but you need to focus on that young collie thing you've got lad don't be thinking off getting a coursing dog. There's not many on here with coursing dogs no more which a don't blame them. But when it's in your blood an past down by family members you'll keep it up for family pride what your forth fathers did. You just stick to lamping an ferreting.

They got lucky mate that's all it is luck ? You might get 1 out of 3 matings that's a proper one. An that one made them there name Dancer, an Foxy, then you've got Fred's dog Dan, then Marcus lucky , an so on an so on. But they'll all tell you nothing comes close to them. Yeah they've bred decent dogs an others have had decent liters but nothing close to them. An it's down to luck an who's holding the lead.
