  1. mackem, I agree if there was such a large exotic population we would have more footage. Thats why I think the actual numbers are small. The two lynx in the photos were shot in 1997 and 1991, the Jungle cat in 1989 and the puma 1980. Whether they were shot today or twenty years ago matter little as my point is that it proves that at some point some escapees or releases have occured. I have looked at lots of footage and photos and can honestly say I have seen two pieces of genuine footage and a handfull of photos that could be exotics. As for the breeding population, I didn't say there is a
  2. I use a plastic sheepdog whistle for my dogs. It takes a while to master but I find I can get a variety of pitches and get different commands. I have a left/right, a fast recall and a slow recall and a down. Personally I don't like to use the acme whistles. I used to make the lanyards for whistles and sell them, saves many a lost whistle.
  3. If its on You Tube it must be true.........
  4. I understand your point mackem but nobody will tell me I saw a deer or fox I also believe that the smaller species produce less interest but the fact is there have been a number of escaped exotics that have been captured or shot. I think that there are a very small number of pumas in our countryside. And if you know your astronony you would know the cats arrive on a Friday from Uranus
  5. Nice to see a few faces and have a beer, thats was about it really. Bought a book on CWD at the British Deer Society stall and spent the rest of my cash of rides for the kids.............Didn''t seem anywhere near as good as previous years. To be honest I think the best game fair is now Chatsworth.......... Was looking forward to Wilf buying me a Pimms but he ignored my phone messages
  6. I can't imagine it would make a noticable difference with the number of visitors.............
  7. Trouble is mongoose' (or is it mongeese) take on cobras and their venom is like lime juice compared to the brown snake. Love to see the photos Andy You watch, beofre long i 'll get a warning for my english.... Sorry simomon, will try harder.... Matt It was a toss away comment on the plural of mongoose, try not to be so paranoid
  8. When you figure out the method can you let me know because my wife wont let me have dog number four...............
  9. Good photos Paul, nice weather here this morning isn't it. I'm doing the same thing this afternoon. After I have cut the grass, strimmed the hedges and washed my truck
  10. I didn't remove your original post but the rules are simple, rascism isn't allowed, jokes will be removed and members may be warned. The mods have a lot of crap to sift through so the odd thread may be missed.
  11. What a surprise, this government is a joke who has helped bring the ecomomy to its knees............Fuel/food/heating, all expensive and rising..............disgusting, I haven't the words to describe how disgusted I am.
  12. Do you mean a riding crop or a crop to plant for game cover?
  13. Trouble is mongoose' (or is it mongeese) take on cobras and their venom is like lime juice compared to the brown snake. Love to see the photos Andy
  14. I had know a breeder of Siberian huskies. They can't be let off the lead because they run off once released, they aren't good with stock..........unless you are a sheep rustler, and they have the seem to have the same bond and rapport with their owner of an Iceberg lettuce..................
  15. This subject has been debated before and I'm sure both sides of the fence will be well represented shortly Personally yes I have seen a big cat. I saw a puma at close range cross a forrest ride near my house in Lincolnshire whilst walking the dogs in 1998, not seen it since although there are the odd sighting and there has been for more than the last ten years. Do I beleive they exist? Definately, although I think that only a very small number of "sightings" are genuine and the majority are cases of mistaken identity invoving dogs/ferels/deer etc. You will get posts shortly asking wh
  16. Now I know its not easy for me to get confused but I got used to the old layout and missed loads including the fishing stalls and gunmakers row. I didn't think about it yesterday until Aaron mentioned it but the terrier/lurchers were tucked far away like a shamefull secret..................Highlight of the day was the guy dressed head to toe in realtree at the side of the lurcher ring...........
  17. Does he live on letsbe Avenue?
  18. You'd think so Chris but its a common malady, suicide by internet..............
  19. You don't get out enough kreet. Hancock might breed more merle lurchers than anyone else but he's certainly not the only person to breed them. Great pics once again WH. Great pics dogs looks well conditioned, as regards the hancocks strain of collie greyounds i think they are a safe bet for a all round general lurcher but i am a bit sceptical as regards the amount of working blood in the line as there is alot of them breed which i dont think have seen a great deal of work, but i surpose the collie has a inbreed instinct to chase and herd and is very trainable, i guess what iam am try
  20. I remember you advertising the litter wag, looked a quality bunch. Golly looks awesome in photos so must be even more impressive in the flesh. Trouble is as soon as someone or something gets a reputation people line up to soil it............
  21. I don't think Mick was being smarmy, just stating that the dogs instincts are kicking in and she knows what shes looking for and is cracking on..........
