my father in law had a straight dobX grey an it was a f&*$ing nut case!!!!all it ever did was want to fight with other dogs, cats an any other stock it seen....it was kept as a pet though,an not for hunting..maybe if it had an outlet for that type of behaviour then it might have been better....but his guarding instinct was second to none,he would have laid down his life for his family....he once caught a guy who was trying to break into my in laws house an absolutely tore the guys thigh an forearm to shreds!!! after that he sadly became people aggressive an ended up biting someone an got a

pay for what you want mate if ye want good stuff ye get it off proven stuff, not a mungral off the streets catches your bitch then sell them as good bred lurchers for 80quid proven stud dogs got to be worth 300 to 500quid a line thats my opinion but everyone's different not got alot a money but think thats well reasonable for good dogs.. 3-5 hundred!!!! people were saying to me a should have sold my pups for between 2 -3 hundred each!! an a gave them away for f*"k all!if you dont know the actual guy who is selling you a pup an have never seen the parents work then you could be buying a p

how many of the guys who breed show winners would actually work their dogs through a hard season??? not many!! a would give away a dog capable of winning at the biggest shows if it had no inclination to work!!! terrier or lurcher!! this is the reason there are so many litters about with inflated prices attached to them!! people think if they pay a lot of money for a pup it must be something special or guarnteed better than other dogs...which is bulls*$t!!!!!
-
He's in his 70's now ...dont think he works any of his stud dogs but I could be wrong....do you think its important? well yeah cos if i was buying a WORKING dog a would at least want one off of working parents!!!! Why?....dogs arn't born workers thats something they have to learn...and given that any pup you buy is around the 7 - 8 week mark it wont have learned anything from mum. and in the case of a 3/4grey x the likelyhood is that the dam hasn't been worked..so it dont really matter doe's it? i would at least want a pup off of dogs that had seen a bit of work rather than po

the litter i bred was a favour for a good mate who introduced me to hunting with dogs...a aquired my hound an a was goin to breed it wi my mates collie greyhound cross... but unfortunately he was walking them in a cemetary an a japanese akita went for my mate an grabbed him by the calf muslce an ripped a chunk outta his calf muslcle off an his two wee dogs went for the akita to try an defend him...one was a whippetXgrey an the other was a collieX greyhound but the whippet ended up wi his back leg hanging off an the collie one ended up gettin his neck an shoulder crushed so much he had to be pu

does he just breed them or does he actually work them?
-
its a pity you didnt contact me a while back...am just down the road from you!!a would have sorted you out wi a dog for free if i knew it was goin to a good home.....
-
cheers for the reply mate..you have first hand experience of what am talkin about..a got my greyhound bitch for nothing but when i bred her a had all sorts of characters phoning me offering me silly money for the pups ...a just gave them away for free, the litter was basically a favour to a mate who introduced me to hunting with dogs an who i am eternally grateful for ..he let me come out wi him an his 2 lurchers an wee terrier to see what it was all about!! (a will go into the details of the litter for a favour later on )

whats up wi the price of lurcher an terrier pups ???? some of the prices you see are f$%*ing outta this world!!! my litter of 3/4 greyhound 1/4 bedlington pups were given away for free ...cos they were goin to good homes!! some people need to have a reality check an ask whether they are into dogs for the pleasure of it or are they in it for money??? at the moment am planning to get a jack russell in about 6 months but some of the terriermen (of the bullshitter variety) have been quoting f%&*ing mental prices for pups!! what is the world commin to??
-
thats a couple of nice pics..especially the one wi the hare!!! did it catch either of them??? cheers chris
-
keep us posted on how he is doin..as i said a would be more than willing to have a pup off him..cheers..chris
