  1. I do bit of ferreting, lamping for a farmer who rents most of his land for sheep grazing, anyway his wife rides with the Fitzpatrick hunt in Peterborough area and she's had some cracking Russell's,shes got a young dog about 2 year old and bred by the huntsman from good working stock,I was talking to her about her dogs and she said the huntsman of Fitzgerald favours the Russell types over any other terrier, shes getting on now she's in her 70s but her son's are digging lads ,she refuses to allow anyone to shoot her land and tells the shepherd loosing lambs goes with the job ,you have a problem fo
  2. I bet it's same group I got kicked off ,they is another group for bedy whippets that was started by a woman who got a bedy whippet 18 months ago and now she's a expert and tells people they are not a working type and it's wrong to work them, she blocked me on my second reply to her dribble ,they definitely some crazy people, social media is wrecking everything , they is some good points in social media but the crap and bad points just out way them ,
  3. It's crazy mate, join groups and your not allowed to post until admin checks it first. I come on here and that's it now ,
  4. Thanks for getting back mate,I totally understand you wanting to keep them , I've searched on line , checked the usual book shops for them but seems they becoming very rare, remember to put moocher71 in your will ATB
  5. My whippet was a dog and he was the best dog I've ever had or probably will ever have,he wasn't the best worker I've had but he was like my shadow , went everywhere with me for 14 years
  6. Thanks ,my granddaughter called him chips but we agreed on chippy
  7. I seem to get on better with them and no seasons to worry about.
  8. Here's the pup I'm keeping, hes a chunky lad and not two weeks yet , they all doing well, one pup going up to Dundee, one going to Cornwall and couple to Leicestershire and one down to Hereford and one I'm keeping is one in bottom pic The bitch is doing a grand job
  9. My bitch will just walk around a warren or along a hedge and just stop and mark with one front leg up or just stop and stand like a pointer ,if nothing home she just keeps moving to next place, Obviously it's better to be quiet bolting rabbits to dogs but dropping purse nets ,long nets , couple dogs and people walking about,it's not really silent even when we go about it thinking we are .
  10. I don't think it matters how much noise you make when ferreting, the rabbit not stupid,it knows your there, your walking about dropping nets above it's head and every step you make is booming below the surface so a dog sticking it's head down a hole isn't going to make much difference.

  18. Thanks for posting mate,it's a shame that a lot of bedlington terriers are nothing more than lap dogs, I was on a bedlington whippet group on FB and got kicked off because I called someone a peddling cnut and helping to ruin these little warriors of the lurcher world, amount of people wanting a scruffy wired haired bedlington whippet for nothing more than to look good, they just don't get it the bedy whippet is from two of the gamest dogs this country as ever produced and they turning it into a lap dog , wired hair FFS they didn't understand it's linty not wired or ruff like a good lakey, one p

    Gold

It all depends on the what sovereign it is ,you can buy full sovereign for as little as 300 but they are in poor condition ,and I've seen half ,sovereign go for five hundred because the king/queen and date on the coin, No matter what gold will always hold, you will never loose, When I was a kid my gran would always put her money into gold like sovereigns, Krugerrands, anything she could get at decent price she would snap it up She had a gold Guinea on a chain ,she gave it to my sister when she got wed , worth few quide now
  20. My old dog very similar bred, his dam was bred same way as yours and sire was 3 quarter whippet quarter Saluki, he was the best dog I've ever had, I've had dogs catch more than he did but the bond we had was what made him for me, he was like my shadow for 13 years,my brother still got one of his pups that looks spit of him , Good look for the season mate
  21. How's the White dog bred ,looks like my old dog
  22. Go on FB they loads and loads mate All work to whistle, work with nets ,lamp ,take hare ,and all under a year old But they in the money mate . Is this a wind up ,a trained ferreting dog FFS ,who's going to sell you a dog that's took probably five years to get to a point that you can call it a ferreting, rabbiting dog,I tell you no one , Spend your money on a whippet pup bred from workers or a collie x grey x whippet. Put the time in and you will realise why no one will sell you a good rabbit dog I don't mean to sound harsh but a lot of time goes into making a r
