  1. He's a cracking young lad Stav, well keen on all things shooting. Did you teach him how to gut them in the field?
  2. I've the Tikka T1X cracking little rifle, I was looking at the browning T-Bolt but couldn't get away with the straight pull. For the price of a new T1X you really can't go wrong??
  3. I've just dried out? cracking day out again Stav, can't beat it (no pun intended) , those birds will be up and about once they dry off, plenty about. Shotgun dried, cleaned, oiled and a good rub down with Napier??
  4. Mines all pressed ready, can't wait? even bought a new shirt??
  5. Going to be looking for a NV spotter soon, but got a new scope lined up first for my 308. only thing is I don't think I can justify the price of a thermal? Used Stavs the other week, the rabbits would run as soon as the lamp went on them, but the using the NV we had a good size bag.
  6. I thought you'd just be a Dock leaf man SD?
  7. The way I keep missing they wouldn't be in my pocket for that long SD?
  8. Cracking couple of hours out, apart from me leaving my mag at home??. Definitely a game changer using NV??
  9. ? The other 2 were shot after this picture on another perm??
  10. Good point that? the next test should be give them a light spray of water and leave them for a day, then open them up and see what they look like inside
  11. Geoff Garrod done a field test on The Shooting show if this helps, not asked about any yet but Ive to suppliers up here who supply eley could ask for you.
  12. Yeah, but not when the bloody big bull was in the field with them?
  13. I got the Nitesite brand new half price VM, I was looking at the pards but I shoot right handed but left eye dominant, so I thought it may be a bit tricky using the pard.
  14. Will definitely be doing that next time Si, I didn't see them at first as I shooting from the rape into the cow field as it has a good back stop, it was only when I climbed over the gate and walked near the brow to walk round the field I caught a glimpse of the eyes looking at me. Note to ones self quick scan with the torch before concentrating through the NV?
  15. Ouch, the crazy lot are always jumping about and kicking, I stay well clear.
  16. Cheers Dave. I'll try and get a picture of him he's a big lad. Arse dropped right out as soon as he came walking over, he filled the NV? I'm using the Nitesite Wolf, cracking bit of kit, ideal for the 17 & 22
  17. Had a mooch around the cow field next to the rape to finally try the NV on the 17.Not a bad start 2 within 5 minutes of pulling up, still light. First one a good clean head shot at 90 yards then next 75 yards. This was before even getting to the cow field. As I got to the field no sign of the cows, they were in the next field, winner game on. I thought it strange that there was no rabbits about? Now this field is usually bouncing. Then a quick scope around i spot a vixen with a cub in tow. Sods law no caller! Tried a mouth squeek but couldn't get them in to a good back stop?
  18. DPT are great mods, got one on my 308 and you wouldn't know its on, lightweight and good noise suppression
  19. Cheers Dave, fingers crossed for a good bag??
  20. ?Needs must Dave? pure pest control. Only time we'll really get a go at them before the grass starts growing again, ready for the cows going back in. For a small field it is literally jumping (pardon the pun). All the scrappers have grown so some good rabbits for the freezer. Or fox bait. The farmer owns the lodges so as soon as they are empty we'll be back there are clearing the place out. There must be 30 - 40 I've seen in and around the lodges, that's not including the ones in the cow field. Hes certainly got a big problem at the moment around there. Never got on the cow field last year due
  21. Definitely get back up next week.? Should have my freezer by then so what evers not for the pot I'll keep for bait. I've took a fair few from that cow field but now all the young ones have grown in numbers. Made it easier for Stav and me as the newbies weren't lamp shy??
