Ok thanks, will leave this job to those better qualified.

Have you had any dealings with these? Had a telephone enquiry about culling a few Canadian geese that are harassing a nesting pair of swans, apparently, the swans are currently spending too much time trying to chase the geese away rather than be on the nest!! The site is private land and away from public Been looking at general license on BASC website to see if their numbers can be reduced? it mentions landowners can apply for the license - does that mean they can delegate the work to me? Would appear Canadian geese can be controlled, and at any time of season including nest/egg

I purchased the xl8 last year, looked at the ar8, but was worried about blasting too much ficam d in. Feel got more control with xl? Still have to use ladders sometimes, but the xl is lovely and light

Sorry, may not have made it clear. I am not doing the farm as such. The moles, he says, are located around his takeoff runway in a field and garden. The farm which is sheep is not being touched

Did say that I would put out a max of 20 traps for the price (just as well as only have 28 traps in total) lol Just hope I don't have to walk too far between areas!

Seeing lots of wasps about recently - should be a good year. Are you seeing many wasps?

Just had a call from a farmer about catching some moles that he had tried to catch but failed. Wanted a price so given a per visit price over the phone of £50 and said it will be 4 or 5 visits generally. Moles in 4 areas, particularly along his runway!! He was staggered at the price, then mentioned could I leave the runway as he was flying to Cornwall this Friday. So he has his own plane, own runway, a farm and thinks I am expensive. Is £50 per visit expensive, he is about 8 miles from me. given that it is unknown how many moles he has. I am still learning, so any feedback woul

Unless you are very flush or making loads, then £450-£500 for an air operated clipper + postage from US seems a tad expensive

Was it an American/Canadian Youtube post you were watching? They seem to have quite a bit of stuff we can not get?

Here is an easy one to try Get a heavy pyrex glass bowl, turn upside down on the floor, prop it up using a small piece of biscuit, a few crumbs within. With some luck the mouse will go in and eat the crumbs and eat the biscuit and (here is the luck bit) the bowl falls and traps the mouse

I have caught a mouse once using a live trap - the simple tilt trap where the weight of mouse entering closes the door. It was not down too long so can not comment on being chewed. Why do you need to catch alive?

It is similar to the Kania, What I do like about the procull - it is already in its own cubby so no other guard needs to be put in place. I have purchased shop bought guards for the kanias and just find the whole process of adding these both puts squirrels off entering, and wastes time with extra set up. The procull is easy to attach on the tree/branch and easier to reset.

Do you use the wcs tube tied onto a tree branch? I have a tube, but have always had it on the ground, and never caught with it yet I put the procull in a tree and it has now cleanly killed/caught 4 squirrels.

To start with I would keep it simple. Advertise in local magazines/parish magazines (a cheaper option) place a free advert on Yell.com. do a good job and on time when you get calls. Look smart, be professional, leave a written report every time. Word of mouth goes along way when starting out, do a good job for someone and they recommend you to others. It will start slowly, but will build. Could try adverts placed on notice boards when your passing them, it all helps. Charge properly to start with, if you are too cheap, you will get work but will not be sustainable. Good L -

There is Barrettine, based in Bristol who supplies most of my pest control -
Would the same help with catching moles, rubbing the scent of a freshly caught mole on the traps?

Thank you for your comments, will be starting at weekend, so let you know, if and when I catch my first ever mink - it`s exciting

Hi, I am no expert in pest control and get my knowledge mainly from books. Fairly happy with my squirrel trapping + the procull A friend of mine has recently acquired a new property with 3 fairly large man-made fishing pools which link each other with a small overflow pipe. He has seen evidence of fish scales on the banks in several places. He thinks Mink, as no river close by, I am yet to go and look for evidence such as foot prints/dropppings. I have several live catch rabbit traps, which I hope will do the job? Would like to ask about positioning - I read that mink can'

Hi, Is any one using the Procull Trap? I purchased one recently, put in in a tree, and so far 3 squirrels caught. Very impressed. Although finding it a faff to put a piece of wire at back of trap, in case the squirrel tries to enter this way. Surely the makers could come up with a simple solution? Each one killed cleanly and quickly. I think the days are numbered for my old wooden tunnel traps and fenns hate it when I get a foul catch. Was tempted to eat (or at least try) the squirrel to see what they tasted like, but decided against it , in case somewhere else they may
