I'm sure they do but the Akita was bred to be a hunting dog, from the experience I've had with them for over 20 years I can see it in them.. No ones saying they won't hunt all breeds will but different standards are required what iawill say once again the alsation German Shepard Malinois Dutch herder type animals are better option for breeding lurchers I have seen pure alsation male take fallow deer single if thy really want to try a Akita Lurcher that would not be a problem I would breed you one and then you can keep us updated of your progress ,the bitch in the pic does a bit mooching etc.

That is not their job though, watching that makes me uncomfortable. I've said before they are more cat like and like to do what they want when they want, trying to browbeat them into doing something I can see things going wrong.

I could tell you some tales of our first dog, maybe he was an exception to the rule as I haven't seen another Akita like him before. Rotties, Dobies, Shepherds, Staff, Wolfhound and Mastiff have all been in the wrong place at the wrong time with him. If you've got that sort of dog,it's you in the wrong place not them, genuine accidents aren't that common if you apply some common sense. Not at all, 9 times out of 10 he was on the leash and they came over to him. Like fcuk would I muzzle my dog to let other's get hold of him. It was a dominance thing so he would usually be ok with smaller do

Anyone who has owned Akita's will know what I mean when I say they are not really dog like, they are more cat like in my eyes. They don't overdo things and are really chilled out with their family of people and other dogs.

That's what I don't understand, I've been around the breed for two decades and the only one I've seen a bit strange around people was the brother to our original dog that we got in 94 and I believe that's because he could smell our dog on us. They ended up having hold of each other when my Dad and my mates Dad bumped into each other on a walk.

I'm sure they do but the Akita was bred to be a hunting dog, from the experience I've had with them for over 20 years I can see it in them. Rubish the akita was bred as a fighting dog it was replaced by the Tosa and then was used for hunting elk and small bears it was primarily a fighting dog in Akita Japan Akitas were originally developed as fighting dogs during the Tokugawa period (1603-1925). Dog fights wera as popular in the Far East as they were in Europe and at that time, the prefecture of Akita was one of the two most popular dog fighting areas, the other one being the Tosa province

No in all honestly constant heartburn is a big symptom of pancreatic cancer, I don't need to say how serious that thing is.
-
Get yourself checked out, more than likely nothing but it is one of the symptoms of one of the worst illnesses known to man.
-
They are better hunters trust me, it's natural for them. Everyone I've known as taking to it like a duck to water when out and about on a mooch.

Seems you don't have a clue about Akita's if you don't think being dog aggressive is typical of the breed, trust me I know first hand. The dog did it out of dominance but he was very dangerous if he got hold of something, he snapped a big Shepherd mix's leg when it got out of the owners house and attacked him. Any big dog that didn't back down from him was in trouble, he was ok with smaller dogs apart from Staffs, he could tell they meant business.

Dog aggressive doesn't mean human aggressive.. That ain't the point dog aggressive his veryusuallybrought on by the fact the welp had a bad situation has a welp how many humans get caught up in a dog aggressive situation lots.it can be dangerous situation for youngsters prevention his the ways foreward understanding canine hang ups ,ain't seen by some.theres only one ways foreward and that's culling theses dangerous types dog killers etc.when the the going gets. Tough they usually the first ta bail out seen itonnumerious occasions that Akita would been culled a the turn of its lip no second

Yes the rail industry but even in construction it's a sackable offence by most companies. Alcohol is out the system much quicker than weed so it's pretty easy to get away with it unless you've gone overboard, I wonder what would be the legal limit for weed in the workplace.
-
Nobody has been willing to answer my question regarding employment should it ever be legalised, every firm I know has a strict drugs & alcohol policy. In my sector you get tested positive for either and it's a 5 year ban from the industry no questions asked.

yeh prob right be more aggressive , than a gsd , and suppose a bel mal as well be more sharp than a gsd . But having had a real nasty lurcher , years ago a kelpie x collie x grey bitch , was hell. it would attack any dog big or small, and it would bite any person other than me. It went for my wife and son and that was the end of it , it was only about 22in 50 odd lb , but feck me was she strong for her size, if she bitten you you she make a mess of you. And i know with Buck my 1x gsd x grey , i am very lucky regards his temp , he soft with people and good with other dogs, but i

But it still has a negative effect on the people around them. Pay attention to the part in italics and especially the bit in bold Where do we set the limits then? When is it a problem and when is it isn't?

the colonel is a different fella, and there's pups about if your patientFcuk me sideways I never knew that, I've always assumed he was the same bloke and I've had a dog off him 19 year ago. Don't buy the CMW myself, but have read a few articles by the Colonel, similar writer to Plummer if I remember rightly, lot of knowledge on the history of all sorts of breeds. Always remember Hancock writing about using Linden Eland bred coursing greyhounds to produce his lurchers in the early days, wonder if they bother nowadays or if any old greyhound will do I have and I always assumed him (peddler) and
