numbers? as how many is there around here? we are over run with them,TBH. i normally get 3-4 an outing, but as the season goes on they become smarter. more hunters are calling yotes so they get used to the calls being used. i share info with a few so we all know were not to go. also if its warm they tend not to come to the call, cold weather works as they are really hungry. there is more trapping them also. it is a fun day out -

i will ask my friend who is a guide, but i am sure NON residents cannot hunt coyotes even with a guide/outfitter. anyone who offers 'hunts' must be licensed outfitters even the first nations people ( i am not sure if they get licensed or not but hear/read a few stories were they 'set up' outfitting companies but dont have the license) you could tag along with me and hold my caller lol -

i want to go and shoot a big fat wild turkey, these are in manitoba,i worked it out cost wise around $2500 tag, guide fee's,fuel, board etc etc........not a chance lol there is pockets of them around by me,but they arent on the hunting list of quarry to kill. but my friend who is a native, can hunt them, the law allows him to,this is part of the native treaty acts for indigenous people. -

yes monies go back to the government coffers. the sask government is in a pickle for cash at the mo,so all hunting and fishing licenses went up this year. personally i dont agree with the provinces and their laws, but that how it is. you imagine if this was applied in the UK hunting laws between wales, scotland and england or even as far as between counties? -

you can only hunt in saskatchewan if you are a resident of that province. otherwise you have to use an outfitter/guide. here is the costs of the deer tags for example White-tailed Deer First Saskatchewan Resident ........................................................................$40.00 Saskatchewan Resident Antlerless ...............................................................$30.00 Canadian Resident Draw .............................................................................$160.00 Guided (Canadian and Non-residents)*............................... -

the wild boars are thriving really well here in cold sask winters mate, even last year in jan i had a sow with babies on the cam. the gov sent in a crew by me and eliminated quite a few but still the numbers in other areas have increased. damn things stay nocturnal for the most parts, making them hard to hunt. -
bit south east of me then LOL

they work out to 150 quid, thats a great deal me thinks how much are pop up blinds back there? you can buy cheaper ones from cabelas or canadian tire(canadian version of halfords/B&Q) but their material is thinner and not UV protected. inside there is nothing, you have to carry a camping chair and little gas heater

deer season for me is over now its fun time with those coyotes and if any damn wild boars decide to show, those too not next weekend as i am out on the lash with the wife but weekend after, this bloke will be geared up for some yote calling. pics and stories to come. -
pop up hnting blinds are really popular over here, quick and easy, boom they are up and you are out of the wind and warm (ish). so i have been using my mates primos xxl bull pen(the rolls royce of blinds) and its a nice blind.cost approx $500 on amazon and 1/2 the price in the states, but finding a retailer who is willing to ship up north is a challenge. i went in search of a blind for my own and stumbled across a few archery sites and the name getting banted around was Rhino blinds. found the manufactures site and they had one on sale.emailed for a shipping quote and sti

ah raccoons now they get quite pissy. i have only shot one and the other, well was at work. i worked at a grain elevator plant and we had contractors in to do some mechanical work and they refised to go up a stairway cause there was a 'coon sitting there. off i went with a shovel and beat it one across the head.done.lol another time a co worker had to call his mate in with a rifle to shoot one as he couldnt get access to a part of the plant cause a 'coon was pissy on a stairway. damn things

a favourite redneck past time happens all the time in the spring or on warm winter days around here. when you blow the damns up then you sit and wait for the beavers to come to repair it. pick em off one by one
