  3. stupid american post, now whos stupid and are you telling me you carry all that equipment to dig out a terrier , well i guess thats patterdales for ya get a real terrier know if theres anyone with anything usefull to say please say it id apperciate the help and id also apperciate it if everyone who reads this remebers what the Australian flag looks like then take special note to tell the difference beteen it and the american flag thank you
  4. well if [bANNED TEXT] want to say a terrier specify bred and size also now lets say fox and deer dog would any one change there minds? myself i would love a tough ibizan hound x greyhound, wire haired thats white mabey with a bit of bully or somthing pretty tough in it
  5. nah mate i never lost my shovel i was just wondring if anyone had anything better then me
  6. ya cross breed id prefer to know about but try and keep it between 2 to 3 breeds and hairy or not and colour would be nice
  7. what are the best tools to dig down on a fox i use a modified 6 foot posthole shovel, fiberglass covering the wood and a think rubber handel on the end the shovel head has had a few inchs off the tip and has been cut in a slight v like this > but not anywhere nere as severe its also orange so i dont lose it whats everyone else use
  8. if you could only own one breed of dog for the rest of your life for all differnet circumstances what would it be
  9. thanks mate i appreicate it befor a few months ago i didnt belive a big dog can catch a rabbit but iv seen a few do it as well as any dog thanks agian mate
  10. i used to only lamp rabbits and used to go for that wippet\greyhound size know i dog anything except i try and stay away from roo's. mostly i try and dog foxes which are usally about 150 to 200m out and across one or two fence to jump and iv decided the bigger the better like deerhound\staghound big greyhound about 32kg plus so what do [bANNED TEXT] think the bigger the better or not? i also think its harder for a little dog to jump off the ute, jump a fence, ran 200m to the fox chase it for that much agian possibly jumping another fence catching it and killing it and then coming back so what
  11. at night late, if [bANNED TEXT] feed them good quality dry food or bunny they seem to have enough energy to go the night to me but i guess it depends on the dog the way there ran and if you keep them penned or on a chian or if [bANNED TEXT] just let them run around the backyard i keep mine chained so they dont use energy (i let them off for a few hours a day) and then there ok to run
  12. fair enough i guess i just dont seem to have the same conection with my ferrets as [bANNED TEXT] blokes seem to secondly i run my dogs alot more then i use my ferrets and i dont use my ferrets with my dogs because my dogs r better off running down a fox then muking around with rabbits my ferrets feed them and my dogs thats it
  13. if your working them with ferrets try and get somthing a littel clamer mabey iv never owned a patterdale but i hear they can be quite stubborn
  14. ya fairenough mate im not a pighunter ethier, id just hate for a dog to let go and cop a tusk in the leg in the middel of nowhere so just be carfull matey
  15. well the ferrets dont need to preform as hard as the dogs plus id presonaly prefer to lose a ferret then a dog
  16. the best fox dog i know was a stright ibizan x greyhound called speedy it is as far as im consided will never be beaten it was unfortunaty shot at 2 years of age on a hunt by some f***headwhen he thought it was a kangaroo i know know about 8 or 9 ibizan crosses and iv never seen anything smarter faster or beter on the turn they also have more endurence then u know what to do with there only issue is only every second one has the ballz to kill a fox but no fox will get away i also know 3 jack russel x greyhounds and there awsome finders and killers and can still easily catch a fox they have
  17. get the one that likes you the most that way ull know it will always listen to u and will be keen to imprese you
  18. 14 months is well and truly old enough the trick is to get it to chase a fox with a dog it trusts and can handle it on its own they're running dogs so if they c somthing running theyll go catch it if it stops they wont no what to do until they get a bit more experience as soon as my dog can jump in and out of the ute then its old enough to be put on a fox and it will ethier be a good dog from day one or s**t house and u should trade it in for somthing else what bred is it
  19. ya mate i wasnt sure if your dogs could get6 sick from them or not thanks mate
  20. i like to go out on a realy windy and dark night especialy if your working the dogs off the ute which im not sure if u brits can do

  23. im not sure ill rarly feed mixy rabbits to my dogs but i do to my ferrets is that ok but i only feed them to them if there not to far gone
  24. listen a dog will not piss somewhere if it get tolled off for pissing there so yes rubing its nose it it dose work .
  25. if u have smart dogs it shouldnt be an issue how old they r u might want to think about getting a new dog if its not inteligent enough to tell a domestic pet to wild animal even somthing as silly and as hard as a patterdale should be able to tell the difference
