  1. Does anyone know where I can purchase one? Scoured through the old posts and the companies suggested falconary fabrications and plastic ferret box company do not seem to exist any longer. Google hasn't been much help either.
  2. I just explained why and my personal experience. If I could avoid it happening to someone else's ferret by telling my story then I'd feel happy in doing so.
  3. I personally would stick a muzzle on the dogs for their first couple of meeting, they are not expected to know it's not a rat or something they are used to hunting as they haven't been brought up with them. Things can go wrong very quickly, our dogs were used to our ferret (pets) my cousin had come to visit with his dog who had seen the ferret several times before but was always very intrigued by it. The hutch was in the house and the lid of the hutch was accidentally left up , the dog leapt over the dog gate which was a fair bit higher than baby gates. Ferret didn't stand a chance as it
  4. At a guess I bet it's so they can be spotted easier in the undergrowth etc.
  5. I like how the ferret was aloud to use its instincts and choose what hole to enter instead of being thrown down one. Often see lads repeatedly and roughly throwing a ferret down a hole it clearly doesn't want to enter, I imagine because they know far more than the lad throwing it in that there's nothing at home. Great video, looking forward to my day out.
  6. I'm sure it tastes nice but I'm afraid I still don't fancy eating it. I'll let the ferrets enjoy it instead.
  7. I have this on the to do list also, and they are so keen to be out they leap onto me when the doors are opened and bring half the shavings with them.
  8. I don't fancy eating it and after gutting it I defiantly won't want to eat it, heard they are smellier than rabbits.
  9. I know I felt pretty guilty but it should have got out of the way.
  10. Oh interesting I never realised hares couldn't get mixi, so just a case of wrong place wrong time for the hare. Shame as it was a lovely looking creature! Thanks for the info
  11. Went out riding today at work as usual and followed the grass margins along, ground was wet and it was raining I heard a big squelch and carried on the margins are hardly ever rode on the same spot twice I thought it was odd that the ground squelched like it did. When I looked over my shoulder I was shocked to see a hare flipping about and screaming, clearly stood on the poor thing and it was in a fair bit of pain. Jumped off but by the time I got back to it it had kicked it self to the other side of the hedge and I couldn't reach it, horse is hunting fit and pissed off that we had to stop
  12. Up to my eyes in feathers at the moment but I'm getting lots of orders suddenly so I wouldn't turn any feathers down. I didn't manage to get my hands on any feathers until this month, even though the season officially starts in October. This hasnt given me much chance to get many made before Christmas so the plan is to stock up and be able to make them next year well before the season starts so I'm not waiting around for feathers. The wreaths can be hung all year they are not specifically a Christmas wreath but I imagine some people are buying them either as gifts or as a alternative to
  13. As most of you already know I make feather wreaths from game bird feathers. If anyone is interested I sell these from £20-£55 and they range from 12inch in diameter to 19.5 inches. Something a little bit different, to be hung all year round and would make unique Christmas gifts. I have a Facebook page if anyone wants to see pictures of different styles and sizes etc search Game Bird Designs on Facebook.
  14. Hope she was dead before they started tucking in ?
  15. I'd have had one of these as its for a good cause hadn't I already picked a 2017 Calander up the other day. Trying to be organised and all that, will have one next year if they are still available I know it's a long way off.
  16. If you saw me jumping a fence you'd realise what " bad position " really is, I'm generally hanging 'round my steed's neck with my feet dragging on the ground! Kind comment thank you, bought the first picture I thought the scenery is it and the Autumn colours were stunning.
  17. Pictures from Middleton Newcomers meet 22nd of October. Excuse the terrible position on the jumping picture, keen horse!
  18. pick him up I bet I could turn this chap into a teddy bear after a day of handling ?I'd like to watch that. ? Like to watch me get bitten you mean
