  1. Busher and runner finally settled together after a mad few days, in the end i bit the bullet and kenneled them together over night. Young bushing bitch only being 6 and half months I knew no real trouble would arise. Seems to have worked as they're good as gold now, one less headache for me! The run for jet is going in as we speak.. Hes having a 13ft by 8ft slab in the garden which belive me convincing the mrs he needed it would've made getting blood from a stone seem easy!

Got to say a big thanks to Dan for the pup and help with the materials for the slab! I think my favours debt is up there with the best of them now ;)

  2. I've got a first cross cocker/patterdale only 7 months so couldn't tell you how she will turn out exactly but she's starting to get stuck in to cover and work scent well now. Standing about 14/15" now so won't be long before she's too big to drop! Busy little dog around the place though she won't switch off... Ever!

  3. As title really. I'm looking for either a 1/4 bull 3/4 whippet, or 1/4 bull 3/4 grey or something along those lines. Will mainly be used working small fields, forestry and woodland. Looking for a robust type not to racey something that will be useful around a hole/bunny bashing and no doubt a decent amount of lamping. Does anybody know of any litters about to drop in the next month or so? Location isn't an issue - Willing travel for the right dog. I know its a fair shopping list but i'm not one for swapping about whatever i get will be here to stay.

    Any help is appreciated

  4. Nice photo Joe. My busher runs alongside the bike with my lurchers. It's deffinitely harder work for them to maintain the speed with their little legs, I can tell the busher is more knackered when we get back but she keeps up. I've clocked 30mph and the busher is never far behind. Runners usually overtake me at that speed. Lol.

I hope your daughter gets into it and takes to the field like my little girl has. You can have hours of fun with them and it's great bonding time.

I take the busher to some of the local mountain bike trail places and run her round them to get her fitness up she seems to cope well with the heat and there's usually streams and stuff on the way round! Hopefully with her following well, the lurcher will pick up from her without too much trouble following the bike.

Mate, this kid is almost as keen as me pestering me to come out all the time i think its just a matter of time before she starts tagging along once shes a bit older. Once i get the lurcher she can start coming for a look every now and again, shes twisted my arm to let her name it so god knows what will come of that but if it means she gets a bit of a bond with the dog, its all good! Waiting for the right litter to drop with the right mix for what i need !

  5. Couldn't agree me. Top quality stuff. This bitch has chewed her way through everything i've ever bought her one way or another, Just received a collar and lead through yesterday for my up and coming bushing bitch in bright orange. Spot on for keeping track of her in bits of cover and hopefully she'll stand out enough now to stop people thinking shes something else of the same colouring bursting out !!

  6. Managed to get out on a local cycle trail with the sprog and my young busher friday evening, Being a one man band when it comes looking after my daughter a fair bit of my time i've been trying to think of ways of giving the dog a decent bit of exercise while still having Maisie with me too. She isn't as keen as me climbing around in brambles and woods and is slow on her own bike only being 5 ! So finding this half a bike which bolts on the back end of mine is problem solved and will be a godsend once the runner is introduced after christmas!!

Anyone else running bushers like this or are you just letting them do their own thing to get fit?

  7. Can't imagine it being a problem, a spade face is only made from mild steel.. They seem to last and only 2/3mm thick! just made this from scrap steel as a first off to see how it goes ...plenty of scope to improve agreed but made from scratch in a half hour dinner break it ain't bad. I'm no fabricator either I'm a grinder\machinist by trade and only ever welded to get myself out of the shit now and again! Just trying to help a mate out with some new gear for the season..

Better photo of the bitch i'm bringing on! Managed to trap something for her to have a good sniff of last week. She's keen as mustard now she has slowly started connecting the dots.

That's a gorgeous hound - reminds me of one of those Redbones

    What's in it?

Cheers pal, she was the only red bitch in the litter so snapped her up ! First X Cocker/Patterdale ! Not quite as big as she looks in photos though about 8-9kg at the moment!

  10. nice bitch Joe & Happy for you that she's starting to take shape atb cbx

Cheers CBX, More she sees/smells the better she gets, can see improvements in her week by week. Long way to go yet obviously but i'm happy with where shes at now for a complete amateur like me she seems to be doing alright !

What a difference 4 months makes. Future bushing up coming on soundly now with a big help from Gwlchmai4110, She's starting to hunt scent well now and realizing whats on the other end of it has really brought her on in the last few weeks, luckily my Mrs dad has land littered in all sorts which has been the game changer for her. Stock breaking done. 6 months old next week.
