Can anyone give me the lowdown on what colour for what quarry?

Being a lad just starting out and admittedly not knowing a great deal...Can somebody point me in the right direction with lamp filter colours and what you've found best..Can't seem to find much info on what colours are best.

Bitch pup from 1st X Cocker / Patterdale almost 12 months. This pup is flying now, putting a fox to ground and one into the open yesterday along with a shed load of pheasants up off the ground. Was hoping to get her on some fresh scent from another 4 legged animal we spotted plenty of but just wasn't the day for it !

Hahaha i'll never forget that night ! Made even worse being stood with a pup on a lead screaming his lungs off to get in on the action and being way to early to enter for the easy slip as he ran past both of us to freedom, had to give to the cheeky b*****d though. You missed the bit where he bounced off the fence like something off WWF over the top of the dogs for another close escape !
Last night was a prime example and a first for me, Stood running the dogs on a few rabbits on another farm we have the pup nabbed one and as rabbits do making a quick squeal we thought nothing of it and moved on, as we walked through an open gate way at the bottom of the field we both caught the stink of him. Had a quick shine around...there he was just sat watching us from the next field. Tried calling him in with no luck! We walked on and a few fields later where we ended up watching him in the distance running rabbits under that massive full moon we had !! He soon cottoned on to us and the lamp and did one...he'll be there for another night !

kin ell they should make some handy pups, can see what you mean now saying he's pretty much a half x ! That grey looks a nice sort too, not a spindly thing by any means !

You thought about changing to the warm white led, instead of the cool white? How did you find the 3 low med high settings?
I will change for a warmer colour I think it'd be half decent then being honest! Mine has just the on and off . If you pm me your address you can have a go before you buy your own !

He's looking well mate that pup of mine is 6 month next week and he stands at 24 1/4 tts and he is 50lb in weight
Cheers mate! Sounds like yours will push a big height being that size now! I'll have the growth plate and yapping police on my back but he's nabbed a few easy bunnies on the lamp already got no doubts for him next season he'll fly at it!

I've got one. Not overly impressed works well for watching close up with the adjustable beam but not ideal for dogs actually running. I went for 67mm and cool colour temp which was a bad move on my part. You can't make rabbits out in a field very easily and the dog seems to get lost in the weird coloured beam. I'll sound like some others on here...but the halogens are way better for actually running game!

Sure a lot more dogs should end up in this thread. Think some people on here could do with a lesson in using a tape measure haha.

Looks well mate. Wish mine would eat well, picky little bitch nibbling at stuff then leaving it. I like to see pups eat all their grub they seem to do better
Cheers mate, Yeah he's eating a crazy amount for his size i just keep filling his bowl until he stops 3 times a day at the moment with all sorts ! Got him on a good quality dry and raw as his last meal at night plus leftovers from the kitchen!

Quick update on how Jet is coming on. All sorts in his mix easier just to call the moaning little sh*t a 1/4 bull lurcher. He's 21inch now and pushing 45 lbs eating like a small horse and a bit of knuckle left so hoping he's still growing and he'll do another inch or 2 which all i wanted from him! Can't wait to get stuck into conditioning him once he's grown and putting as much game in his mouth as i can!

Almost finished this..Enclosed 6ftx4ft kennel inside the run with double windbreak can lock the kennel and run separately so locked in kennel at night then in the run all day. Even in minus temps the dogs come out warm in morning. All in about £400 plenty good enough for my pot lickers.

I've tried red but only on a crap LED lamp. Will order a red one up for the tracer and see how I go...cheers !
