  1. last pup I got was six week old, came home fine settled in straight away no problems...

got more grief from the silly cow at the vets when I went to register it as it was irresponsible and the owner who sold the litter should of kept them till first jabs!

at one point she said I might have nicked it because it wasn't chipped.. fcukin idiot!

Might seem a bit morbid but there’s a mint/ massive graveyard in Scarborough to walk round if you make it back over this way, it starts near old prison in town and follows the valley to peasholme, loads of hidden gardens and ponds

???.Seriously mate ,you’d be welcome here to stalk roe anytime with the odd muntie .

In return you can put me onto that stag you see most days ???

Funny you should mention that, was up on the moors last week when the moon was up and it was freezing that was the only thing I saw.. first time in ages!

make a good head for up this way but I’d rather see it going about it’s business… got a few orders for roe but I can’t bring myself to shoot them cos I’ll have to sort the fcukers out on me tod in the clod?

Hadfield's are having a demo evening tomorrow 14th from 5-10. And refreshments!!

Had a play about with the new pard scope this aft, a lot more user friendly and ergonomically easier to use than the 008 models.. liked the round screen and the fact it comes with scope rings in the box.
but like anything you can never tell how good something is till you’ve physically been out with it for a couple of nights!

All these scopes look mint at demos but it doesn’t matter who makes what they all have floors and you don’t find them till you’re out in the field.

  7. when I was a kid I can remember seeing loads of magpies on the rosewood trellis in me grandads back garden, wasn't out of the ordinary to see over 20.. the area was rife with them!

me grandad was a bit of a church goer and I can remember him telling me about the Vicker getting into bother cos one Sunday he told the congregation to trap or shoot them because they were out of control and killing all the other birds!

someone got upset by what he said and it ended up in local news paper?

Loads of good mate, you just see lots of mistakes and some neglect the more your around hosputals... when it's peoples lives/bodies their should be no room for error or excuses... there is billions pumped in but too much wasted and not where it should be imo.

As i said there are some absolute angels in the NHS a lot more than bad eggs for sure... one stand out nurse was a phillipino, she was a beautiful person and exactly as someone who cares for people should be, engaged with everyone in the ward with warmth..she stood out

think some people are in jobs that they just shouldn't be and others that embrace there work!

could reel off a fair bit about the nhs but I won't.

my nan died in an end of life private/locally funded hospital on the outskirts of Manchester and I will never forget how good the staff were, the place was lovely.. all the rooms looked onto a well looked after pond/garden area.

I took my little lad with me he was only about 4 at the time and one of the male nurses scooped him up, took him to the kitchen.. got him an ice lolly and played with him in the garden so we could have some time alone!

im not surprised the place dose so well with donations cos as bad as the reason your in there the level of care I saw was unreal

One of my lads took in a long tailed tits nest to show his Biology teacher. He had no idea what it was. He was a good teacher, but my lad had to instruct him on the three different species of UK newt and identified a roadkill ferret which had  brought in for identification by the teacher. To be fair, there's a difference between academic biology and being a naturalist/ countryman.

your bang on with that ?

as a kid all I ever did was play out in the countryside and with not having things like the internet every Christmas and birthday I got given books on wildlife.. theres a massive stack of books in me mums loft!

the kids think its mad how I can tell them what's what when were out and about

A cartridge is a cartridge to me , really dont see the point in buying expensive cartridges.  You are either on your quarry or not.

Fiocchi or clear pigeon do me ?

    20220814_190648.jpg

Think clear pigeon are £90 a slab now, I’ve a mate who bulk buys and falls out with guns/ chokes and cartridges every other week so I just buy what ever he’s flogin cheap :)

just finished using a slab of gamebore super steel that killed well No4 shot only thing I didn’t like was they were plastic wad… if they weren’t so expensive I’d use the pigeon extreme as they work well on the crows, I’d say 8 of ten phone  calls are for crows!

this was a 410 day for me with my mate using a ridiculous fac shotgun, he shots most but god knows what his connection rate was.. sounded like machine gun fire?

I went out last night despite weather but had a 'mare. Missed 2 ?. I knew it wasn't me, felt good. Checked zero coordinate on pard 008S when I got back, and yep they'd shifted again. 3rd time it's happened, lost all faith in it now, going back to rear add on. ?

It’s a strange one that Ben, when I first got a 008 I mounted it on the impact and never hade to adjust the zero once in about 8 months.. I had to go onto YouTube and watch a tutorial as I’d forgotten how to do it!

that gun had been dropped and bouncing round the back of the truck all that time, i only had to re zero as I was putting it on another gun!

I’ve another mate who’s had loads of 008’s and he’s never had a problem with the mounts, they sometimes need shimming when first fitted but that’s no great shakes and takes about 5mins to do
