  2. good layer of snow in warks , had awalk out with the lurcher and border pup, came across 2 foxes sunning them selves, ran 1 in, couple of fields on put the other up, plenty of tracks about good to be out on mornings like this,
  3. never mind pics of the dogs lets have one of the judge.
  4. sorry for got to say good post whitser, its not a numbers game, its about getting out and working your dogs.
  5. had 4 in 7 days, and i thought that was good going for me as i go out on my own then had 3 in 24hrs, one with my lurcher and a lad came out for the day and his bitch bolted 2, best thing that has come out of this season is my blue & tan border has come good at 22mts he has done very well, roll on next season
  6. jigsaw i think youve answered your own question, ive not much experience with bullx,s but they do retrieve live to hand will hunt up and flush fox all day long, have great finding ability, and they dont pull up, i dont think many if any full time rabbiter would want a bull x just for net work there not the tool for the job,
  7. in the cw feb 13 nimrod wrote a good peice, its not about working terriers but i think its worth putting up, ONE HAS ONLY TO COMPARE THE WORLD OF WORKING LURCHERS TERRIERS AND GUN DOGS WITH THE MONEY MOTIVATED GREEDY WORLD OF SHOWING TO UNDER STAND THE VAST GULF WHICH LIES BETWEEN THEM,
  8. ok thanks, have you got a side on picture of him,
  9. looks a nice sort how tall is he, whats he good at, will he hunt up,
  10. nelson i was being sarcastic, the word investment got to me abit, im only concerned about working my borders not in it for cash. the last litter i bred went to some fellas for the grand total of £20 per pup, one for £175. which just about covered the reg papers and pedigree,s.
  11. as you say sjm people who have INVESTED £350 must get a return for there out lay,
  12. breed for work not money, just because some one pays top dollar for a bitch dosent mean they have to charge top dollar for any pups, money is not the goal for any one with the working ability of the border terrier at heart, digging to one is,
  13. ive got an 18mth old dog and a 11 yr dog, after work on friday took the young terrier and the lurcher for a quick walk out, terrier flushed afew rabbits for the lurcher which got her warmed up abit as it was so warm and mild, found afew holes that look to deep for me to try the terrier in on my own, on the way back to the motor i was looking at the dogs and thinking yer these two will do just fine working together, walking up the field there is 3 blocks of round bales about 40 long by 10 wide, the dogs were checking the gaps, no scent in the first or second block, but the third one got the do
  14. had same thing happen here years back ,the six mt pup would circle round his sire and they would set to, had to let the pup go in the end, to much hassle, its a pity you took the vets advice and had him done,
  15. had a walk out with a bitch pup of yours last week and she is a corker, very racy about 21 tts she is still only young spinning around and all that,a very nice bitch indeed.
  16. im not knocking tony or brockfox, all im saying is instead of hear say, find out for your selves, i hope tyson gives them hell, as he went over a bitch of mine.
  17. plenty on top, put 2 up today, nowt to ground , last thursday lurcher had 1 just before dark, on the friday went out with a lad and his bitch soot, it had been pissin down all week so we thought we would try the old faithfull the wall, this is a wall with 3 air ducts nice and dry, in went soot and straight on, i could here her baying 40yds off out it came facing the dog, fair play to her she never gave an inch, while my border dog was ragging the shot fox soot was back in and working another 1 as i moved to get my dog, out came the fox and it was missed, my fault, went a bit more and had 1 in
  18. in stead of taking the piss, phone him up and ask him to come out digging with you, that goes for tyson as well, then you will know for sure . brockfox why look at my profile?
  19. oyama what do you mean sell his things, please reply.
  20. the reason i went for a bullx was the head size, broader muzzle, i bred my bitch out of a hancock bitch that was very good to fox , but her down fall was muzzle, she was 25 tts, the bitch i have now is 21 tts and is as good as they come, previously i had a hancock dog half x and he was 25 tts and he was as good as they come, he wouldnt touch munty at all, but would mark to ground ect, hunt up cover, single handed means single handed, and not doubled up, and as for names ect i dont even no the breeding of the stud dog, but what i do no is that 3 of the litter that i no of all work single handed,
  21. up and out early today with the 2 borders had to leave the lurcher at home she,s had a knock {good job really}, checked afew places but nowt at home so just had a rake around the train banking, well the border dog caugh summut in the rough and the border bitch went into the rough to join in, at first i thought it was a mixy rabbit but after afew seconds i realized it wernt no rabbit, so i dived in and grabbed hold of a young munty, now this thing was only about 10-12" tall, god knows how old it is, so i quickly gets the dogs off it , lifts it up in the air to keep the dogs away and it starts to
