    November answer to a July topic, sorry just joined. I started with 3 muscovy ducks and a drake and they multiplied to 15 ducks and 7 drakes, with some predator and weather fatalities on the way. My ducklings would start on duck crumbs but move on by choice to mixed corn or grass or leaves. Usually this would be during the second week which does seem a bit early.

    I had quail a few years ago but they were getting depleted one per night. I just found a headless corpse on the inside of the cage. After I had rehoused 'Gail' the sole survivour, my cat caught a stoat/weasel, so it made sense. The weasel could fit through the cage but only the quail heads would. I didn't get any more as it seemed a lot of effort for gobstopper eggs.

    Thanks for this advice. I have been skinning my muscovies as it has been near impossible to get the feathers out. I obviously wasn't scalding them for long enough.

    Many thanks for the warm welcome. The rabbits live under my wood store (my own fault really). My cat used to keep numbers down but she is too fat to move these days

    Hello there. I have visited this site many times for information, or just to take advantage of a good read on the Internet. I like the balance here, nature and hunting and other stuff. I have a small smallholding (big lawn really) near the Yorks/Lancs border and I keep a few ducks and, this year pigs. I also have a vegetable patch that puts me in a life or death warfare with bunny raiders. Still, means I get meat with my veg. My bunny gun is a 1980s Weihrauch 35 but I also have a Pro Sport though it is too nice to drag through wet grass. Pesky
