  1. whats a basenji?? a basenji is also known as the congo terrier but here read this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Basenji strong looking dog mate, think he needs something bigger than a rat to bring out the best in him!!!
  2. introduced all my pups to ferts from 6 weeks old & they got on superb but now every single one of them will kill ferrets whenever they get a chance. killed 4 in the last year. can't let them anywhere near ferrets now. thats terriers mate! my lurchers are sound with them though
  3. reckon the pup will let you know when its ready mate. A mate's russell dog pup killed its 1st rat at about 15 weeks, bit too young though i reckon. My pups are 7 months & took em along recently for a look. 1 was mad keen the other 2 showed less interest. theyr all different & switch on when theyre ready.
  4. Like Darcy says mate, if the pup was brought over it aint illegal. You're just assuming it has been illegally docked in the UK. Best ask 1st eh?
  5. aint been a red squirrel in this neck of the woods for many, many years matey!!! Some of the greys do sometimes have a reddish tinge to their upper body though. saw one like it yesterday
  6. Mate,he's still a pup, thats what they do!! My springers, terriers and lurchers have all chewed until at least that age. most of its out of boredom, make sure theres plenty of stuff to occupy him & get him out whenever you can. Metal strips are the best to protect the kennel.
  7. UV filter it is then! Thanks for the replies. One other question, are the macro filters any good, as opposed to buying a macro lens?
  8. A question for all you experienced snappers!! I just bought my 1st dslr, a Canon 1000d with the is kit lens & I've added a 55-250is. What I would like to find out is whether the uv, macro, sepia, polarising lenses etc on Fleabay are any good. I mainly thought to get a uv lens or hood to protect the glass on my lenses, but the others look a good idea. I just wanted to know if they're any good or just a gimmick. Any advice would be appreciated.
  9. Still got 5 black eyed silver hobs left, Bridgend area, South Wales, only a tenner each. All about 10 weeks old now.
  10. Hi mate, personally at the prices you quote for a plummer I'd be wanting 2 dogs! You won't go wrong with a decent bred russell or any working strain terrier, bushings in their nature. That said if you got an ess or cocker for flushing why dyou need a terrier? you won't get better than them.
  11. get a lakeland, or patterdale fela, thats what you want if ya guna do any earth work, you can get a good one for around 200 pound I doubt he wants one for earthwork with a hawk fella!!!!!!!
  12. Hey Fred, if somehow a bit of indian blood got mixed into your family somewhere along the line years ago, & a few generations later a black haired, very dark skinned baby with a love of garlic was born in triplets and the other two were were the more usual pink, would the dark one be another member of the fred family or an Indian?
  13. you'll be needing an extra sleeping bag or two and wellies then! it was effin freezin at night & ground was soaking. plenty of tinnies helped. good weekend though
  14. Thanks for the comments. Been patient with the dog pup. had leg problem at 6 months & he's a big backward pup but starting to tick now. looking forward to the season now.
