Not red it yet other than the IMBRA trap............15 shillings = 75 pence

In 1961 that 15 Shillings would have bought you 18 pints of Shipstones Best Bitter.

Six packets of Fags [20s] Park Drive , Woodbines , or Players Weights .

30 Bus journeys into Town, the current price of a bus trip to to town is £2 . 75 .

I do not know how much a pint of Beer is in a Pub but i think 20 Park Drive costs a Tenner .

And if you bought a dressed Chicken off of my Mam it would set you back 7 shillings = 35 pence .

Just figured who your mate is Eddie B...

We sure are indebted to him, for making this priceless Data available. :clapper:

Seen a fair bit of it before, but I never tire of looking at details of what might best be termed, the 'Heyday of British Trapping'...

The Grey Squirrel has always been a major problem for the Forestry Commission guys and a pioneer of the methods of trapping them was Fred Courtier.

I have spent time with Fred and he was a mine of information,..he was affectionately known at one time, as Mr. Squirell

Been at it, real heavy on the wasp nests this season,..and compared to a lot of other less fortunate pesters, I have done pretty well...

However, I am now a wee bit fed up with that old game, cannot wait to get back out, into the beautiful woods and fields with the traps.

All the best, Phil.

How can i make the pages bigger ,? the print is to small for me.

Sorry micky. Can i ask, are you on a phone or computer? If it's a phone then hold down image and it brings you into imageshack, hold down on it again and you can enlarge the image.

On computer, simple press "control" then tap "+" till its at the desired size to read easily.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Eddie . My Grandfather George Stacy was involved in the eradication of the Rabbits that were immune to the virus in the 50s , he was one of a team that caught live rabbits for testing before the exterminators moved in .It was a very large scale exercise run along military lines, its a pity they done such a good job .
