Well bottled it up last night, 45 bottles, 6.6%, not the 7+% it should have been because there was supposed to be only 40 bottles, "school boy error", hopefully haven't lost to much fireyness or depth

What's in your recipe?, if it's in a warm place it'll be fermented out in about seven days. Mines about to go out to the shed tomorrow to cool and condition.

It's your recipe mate just looked simple for me to copy, but I now hold you responsible for the this new adventure already bought some kit online cider and beer next

Hah, no pressure there then! In that case don't forget day after it stops bubbling rack off sediment carefully and , then either wait a day and bottle, or bottle immediately. If you don't sweeten with a non fermenting sugar at this point it'll be as dry as a nuns "you get the idea"! Also add 1tsp of caster or granulated to each 500ml bottle or equivalent, depending on bottles your using.

Needs to stay in the warm for about a fortnight then put it somewhere cool and forget till the summer.

On the brewing forum people have been tempted to sample after a couple of weeks and been disappointed, then tried it after a few months and been delighted.

Apparently it makes a brilliant mixer for bbq get together with fruit juice vodka mixes!

Sounds great!

The only other thing some have tried is adding glycerin to give mouth feel! I have not as I wanted to stat as au naturel as poss. My thinking is that if it appears "thin" then numerous things can be added at time of consumption to address if necessary.

  • 2 weeks later...

Christ on a bike man, I don't no if iv added to much of something but this is definitely hangover drink! 5demis were filled and sugar added as required but have to say it's potent,

Kegged my wherry to 23 litres of it minus 4 pints from the fv that's a nice drink to,

I blame you for this new craze just ordered some shiny new stock pot for a biab brew!!!!!!!!!! But feels so good sipping your own brew another month and my raspberry gin should be ready to drink

Oh heck!! How much sugar have you used in total?

Did you take readings before and after?

This week I'm doing nettle beer, next a gallon of gorse and middle of next month a couple of dandelion and burdock.

In the old days when I drank "ahem" a bit I made raspberry gin, vodka etc, blackberry whiskey etc, but now I'm a reformed character, I'm going to stay away from the strong stuff.

they do look good but its the price that puts me off. a mates just bought the 20ltr. brewmiester which is very expensive. im brewing with it this week to try it out.

ill stick the my 3 vessel set-up for now i think as i couldn't justify spending that amount of money on a bit of kit at the moment but one day maybe lol
