The Irish Poacher 0
I use the same for pigeons as i do for shooting clay's Eley blue 7's And as for giving the second barrel to a wounded bird of any kind a swift blow to the head by a priest does fine. Quote Link to post
The Duncan 802
I was doing some duck shooting last week, using 32g of no4 steel (all the shop had at the time), few duck coming in but woodies seemed to know they were 'safe'. I got bored waiting and the woodies soon found out they weren't safe. No4 in steel pulverises em! Quote Link to post

I throttle any downed but not out birds - pass out within 10 secs, dead shortly after. Strangely peaceful and satisfying (does that make me a bad person?) D. Quote Link to post

What you really need to do is swing them as hard as you can and smash their head on the edge of a water butt, lay them flat and stamp on their head, give them to the terrior to rip apart, drown them, etc, etc...you know.... or failing that, perhaps one of these..... http://www.solwayfee...p7401-c357.html   Edited October 1, 2011 by Deker Quote Link to post
The Duncan 802
Seems easier just to snap their necks, with less equipment. My mate uses a multi-tool pliers - they still flap a bit though. or of course, you can just pull their little heads off- done it a few times by accident in the early days. No arguments about whether they are dead or not then! Quote Link to post
markha 99
32gr no6. Break neck with quick pull, if flapper on ground. Quote Link to post
