  1. uttings.com do them for £659+£8 next day delivery.
  2. the same scope at uttings is £229.99 i think you added £100 by accident.
  3. i have seen them in the shops but are far too expensive! i can get the norma vmax ammo for half the price which shoots sub half inch at 100yards in my rifle (both 40 and 50grain bullets). if the norma ammo shoots well in your gun dont waste your money on the silvertips. atb karl
  4. has to be the .223 perfect for everyday use.
  5. yes this is very true. i was using the aftermarket scene as more of a positive towards the remington rather than a negative for the howa if you get what i mean. atb karl
  6. just to through a spanner in the works, have you considered a howa 1500? they shoot great straight from the box, the only downside from the remington sps is that because they have only recently become relatively popular there is a lack of after market parts for them. mine consistantly shoots groups less than 1/2inch at 100 yards with factory loads. atb karl
  7. i mate. it really depends on what you will be using your triple for? foxes, rabbits, i see your in scotland so maybe roe aswell. a good place to start looking is the MTC optics range as you will be able to pick up a second hand viper or mamba for that sort of money. also a if you can stretch to it a second hand bushell elite would be a good buy. hope this helps. karl
  8. i bought it new from andrew at uk custom shop in january of this year. i got the rifle screw cut with a predator 8 mod, rings, bases, a scope (which i later sold on) and some ammunition for a bit under £1000. unfortunatley they had just recieved a price hike before i bought it but i dont really care i'm chuffed to bits with it and it shoots 0.3MOA with 50grain Vmax norma ammunition. as for tikka's if you are going to get one buy one of the older models not the t3 because they are built with better quality. the new t3's are certainly no better than the howa's. atb karl.
  9. it is definatley a good idea to buy a rifle new. the howa is definatly a top gun. i have a .223 howa with a laminate stock there is a link to a pic of it in my sig. my shotgun is a lincoln premier, it was cheap but it shoots straight and does the job asked of it. atb karl
  10. i've got a .22lr a .17hmr and a .223 and they all have there place. .22lr for close and quite bunnies .17hmr for long range crows and bunnies and .223 for even longer range bunnies and fox. put down .223 if you get one u'll love it. dialing in rabbits at 400yrds is very addictive. of all my rifles it's the one i take out the most. a pic's in my sig. atb karl
  11. good job mr logic. i recently started dialing in shots with my .223 lasered a rabbit at 220yrds, 4clicks of elevation on my fixed 10 power eb sniper scope and the 50grain V-max hit it's mark. very satisfying atb karl
  12. uttings are selling nikon monarch 4x40 scopes for £125(down from £200). the optics will be great. atb karl
  13. mamba 3-12x44 with german 4a reticle. same optics as the viper but without the huge target turrets and cluttered reticle. cheaper as well.
  14. you really dont need a big mag scope. a fixed 6x, fixed 8x or a 3-9x would be fine for a .22lr my .22lr has a 3-10x44 map8 hawke on it. people seem to be obsessed with high mag rifle scopes but if you get a basic scope with out all the bells and whisles then you can get one with better glass for the same price. remember people shoot out to a 1000yrds using scopes with less than 30x mag so you wont need anything close to that to hit a bunny at 100yrds. just my 2pence atb Karl
  15. i've looking to get a scope to be used on my .223 for dialing in targets out to extended ranges. so the question is what scope to get. i needs it to have: - a variable mag up to 20x - target turrets with reliable tracking - 1/4 or 1/8 moa adjustment - a normal duplex reticle (although mildot or something close would be ok, just not to cluttered) - 40-50mm objective - 1" or 30mm tube (i'm not bothered) - as decent optics as possible the price limit is under £400. so people, any suggestions??? atb karl
