Few Questions about pike (fishing)

Hey all

First off, long time no see haha, i still haven`t got my rifle, or been hunting yet but would still love to go shooting.

Anyways, i`ve been wanting to get into fishing for ages and now i am just really determined to take up pike fishing for both hunting and lesure, and i`m just wandering what sort of bate/fish do they eat? Do they also eat crayfish? and this may sound stupid i`ll ask anyway, do they eat any veggies? lol like carp eat sweetcorn, i`m guessing they don`t but you never know.

I know they have been caught on certain flavourd boilis but dont know about vegis . try a live rat on two big trebels.lol

dead fish or live ones if the pond, river allows.

2lb test curve rod, 12lb line minimum, wire traces.

size 6-10 treble hooks.

 

pike fishing is better as a winter past time.

Sad thing is they put up a better fight in the warmer weather but your right better to fish for them in the winter.atvb

hahaha see this is why i haven`t been fishing and have been put off, because this ain`t meant to sound lazy or anything,but it sounds like to much hassle for a fish i mean having to know what wire trace and all that other perlaugher.Where did the old days of using a bamboo stick with a hook and a bit of bread at the end, go to? lol

summer time spinning light tackle few spinners and walk the river bank i only get jack pike but on light tackle they give a great fight and its a nice peaceful walk along the river bank on a summer afternoon

IMO you can't beat it for a bit of sport
