Sterry 0
i've used just the lamp without the filter as then its easier to see them if they are looking aaway from you (get one in the back of the nogging) Quote Link to post
The one 8,589
Mainly use the red one but when im doing the campus at work we drive round takes about a hour then start again using blue then amber then green and found they weren't spooked as much as using the one colour all the time and we were getting good numbers Quote Link to post
stubby 175
sorry mate not bin on this long still trying to figure out how to use the fuker. the writing on the forum menu gives a good indication of the section I'll move it to lamping for ya Quote Link to post
westwicklow 4
I have found it may get you better results to change the colour from time to time.... it keeps the foxes guessing ha ha Quote Link to post
the Verminator 0
if its been lamped before and they have got used to white light then i use red but if not then use clean to start with then change when they get lamp shy Quote Link to post
Alycidon 2
Rotate them and keep them guessing. I use green and amber most of the time but do find no filter better for ID purposes when sweeping a field. I usually have green on a 240 roof lamp and amber on a 170 scope mounted lamp. I have just been out with my lab and collie for a walk taking a 170 lamp, I knew there was a fox in this field but could not locate it untill I got an eye reflection at maybe 200 yards, a rifle goes with me tomorrow night. Red, target ID 100/120 yards, green /amber 200 yards with a 170 and further with a 240. No lens then with the 240 400 yards. A Quote Link to post
