opinions..

a mate of mine who,s a keeper in norfolk came over a few weeks back. and the talk turned to deer [plenty on his estate] he was telling me the reds on there are as big/bigger at a year old, than scottish ones. now i have no need to dispute this [what do i no] but like he says the food situation is better in norfolk than scotland. what do you lads think on this...

I know there are some estates in Scotland that produce stage over 20 stone regularly but not many. Lowland animals do not have such a hard time surviving the winters. Consequently they do grow bigger on average, at least according to everything I have read that has been published by the BDS.

i heard it down to food and land there on i see it here with the fallow up in the mountain there are black in color where down in the low lands they are what we call rainbow red in color they say here it's the bog water and less minerals they do and don't get !! see pic

there is a sizes difference too i find the low land ones are bigger
