COMPO 54
Following a phone call for help last night from the town council, I had an hour on the allotments, they are political on teh allotments, you may all recall the letters to the newspaper following the article after someone else tried shooting on there which led to me getting ferreting permission in the first place........and the ongoing letters to the editor with me and the ANTI exchanging opinions Vincenzo the old italian boy that is teh allotment site manager was there again tagging along and regaling me with his old hunting stories, he has been snaring on the allotments but they have stopped him doing that now due to their fear of health and safety and the snares possibly catching a small child.......hence why i was called and was up there today! they genuinely fear a kid getting caught! :laughbounce2: anyway a walk round with the ferret, bag of nets and my rabbit hound tyke, 2 rabbits from under 1 shed....nothing else on there! Told Vincenzo that he needs to use a few snares as its rabbits coming in that are doing the damage, i will take it up with the town council on his behalf. gave Vincenzo a rabbit and came home for lunch! Rabbit hound waiting the one holed warren under the shed that produced 2 rabbits The easter bunnies, one for my Italian accomplice and one for me! the people on the allotment where the rabbits were had carpeted round the shed?? the rabbits had burrowed under the carpet and were under the shed, no other holes due to the carpeting and water butts etc... The one 8,622
Is it worth you finding out who's the land surronding the allotments Quote Link to post
Sterry 0
how about a drop net set along where they coming from and drop it behind them??? Quote Link to post
COMPO 54
The one & Sterry Not worth the effort to do a drop net for a couple of rabbits, and the rabbits are coming from the sides of roads and landscaped public area's not a farm or such, no large rabbit populations near by its literally a few rabbits about and the allotments are surrounded by rabbit netting. I have e-mailed my contact at the town council suggesting they let Vincenzo run a few snares....they stopped him snaring as they feared a child getting caught in a snare!..........a few snares would keep any visitors literally short term visitors as the only way in is under the gate Quote Link to post
