There is the view that terrier blood in a running dog tends to produce hard mouths. There's terrier blood in mine and he usually crunches the first catch then when he's calmed down the rest are usually fairly undamaged. Cheers, D.

My old tan bitch did the same and there's not a hint of terrier in her....my other dog did the same after a season on charlie I spose it's only a prob if you intend to sell or eat them.

Smokey ,my blue dog has at least 1/4 beddie in him he never kills his catch, but I did have a dog 30 years ago Max Grey / bedddie/xCollie he had a mouth like a trap .bruised the shit out of everything he caught.
