SUNNY EVENING

As it was a sunny evening I ventured out to a spot where a fox had been seen working.

 

I arrived at 8pm and got set up in a hedge overlooking a rushy field by about 8.20.

 

I hadnt been sat 10 mins when I glanced to my right and saw a fox coming out of the rushes only 60 yards from me it was a scabby thing !!!

What does a fox like that one weigh, his looks to be twice the size of foxes around my home.

thats a big fox must not be many people hunting them round that area for them to grow that big

That fox probably weighed about 14 lb , not that big really. We do get them over here up to around 20 lbs , I know bigger foxes have been shot up to about 26 lb but that is very rare.

 

The heaviest I have personally shot was 18 lb.

Never have actually weighed one, just judging as compared to dogs, I would have thought that one weighed between 20-30 lbs, but the fox here are surely smaller, will have to weigh one for reference sometime.
