I have a 2002 D22 and at the weekend it started to cough and splutter when around 3,000rpm, I took it to my mates garage this week and he changed the fuel filter but its even worse and coughs and splutters that bad that I can't drive it anymore. My mates navara had a simlilar problem and he changed the injectors but this made no difference so he thinks the problem is the fuel filter, any ideas anyone please????

simoman they suffer with a few problems, try unplugging the mass air flow senser on the intake if it improves change the senser, also they have a gear/neutral switch in the gear box which goes basically tellf the module when the cars in a gear so you cant over rev it in neutral even a manual.

see if you can get the throttle sensor checked before it goes in, may be worth a try

 definitely worth a look simo!! when mine went tits up and cutting out a few people mentioned they had problems with the throttle sensor. thankfully mine was the fuel filter but it needed to be bled through a fair bit to get it running again on all four....

keep us posted what the outcome is sime! I certainly would be interested in what the Nissan boys make of it....

Also try and cover up them stains on your passenger seat mate before you let them have it :whistling:....

I'm dreading the call to say whats wrong and how much

Tony, I put new covers over the upholstry to hide those stains.............

Let them tell you what's wrong, you don't have to let them do the work! :whistling:

Haven't you found a friendly independant to work for you? Am dead lucky with my LR, one of the Technicians from the main dealers does mine after hours, he's a bit of a TD5 loon and doesn't charge the earth, even keeps his LR overalls to do the work! :icon_redface:

Your right Aaron, my mate had a look but wasn't sure if it was the fuel pump, but I didn't want to spend a grand and find that wasn't the problem, fingers crossed.........
