Guest Magwitch
Me and Tony had a couple of hours out with the dogs this morning traveling light with one small pug and the spade, a bit of a change in the line up as Tony had brought Smokie his collie whippet greyhound mix. We have done most of the ditches on this farm to death so today we just walked the boundaries winkling out any stragglers..............................5 rabbits in total Ted flushed this rabbit on the opposite side of the dyke.................... heading for cover............................. closing in............................. Oh shit he's in trouble now....................... rabbit stops dead Ted over shoots but is snapped up by Smokie as he tries for the buries on the left.................... Joint retrieve..................... another rabbit scooped up by Smokie................................... Quote Link to post

Malt 379
Great shots Mag. My 7 month old pup has had his first two coneys this week, out with the air rifle & lamp. What a buzz when he caught his first one, a runner that had been shot a fraction too low in the lower jaw, having the dog with us made all the difference. Had the dog not been there, the rabbit would have escaped, perfectly intact apart from the broken jaw, and probably starved to death. I can't wait until next season so I can get him working properly.
