BULL 100
a friend of mine is a young tennent farmer hes got a problem with rabbitts in a small little farm which is covered with stock so i cant do much thee as my dog is not stock broken, anyhow hes found some weird device on line he says will shortly be banned it puts gas down the holes and explodes it ,it not only irradicates the rabbits through the explosion it collapses the warren too ,its £2.5k to buy he said hes talked to farmers and they will pay him to do all there land to remove rabbits. if this could take place could loose whole areas of rabbits ,this he will use all year round to irradicate the rabbits. if this becomes the norm we could greatly loose rabbit population everywhere and in all honesty most of the farmers would go for it too
Malt 379
There's a few threads in the pest control section about these, I think they're called Rodenators. They're only meant to be used to collapse empty buries, it's highly illegal to use them on occupied ones.
stubby 175
a farmer has already been fined for using one of these, in the usa its probably ok to use, but with our laws, it can only be used in an empty warren, and thats not just empty of rabbits, but every living thing, there is no way on earth, that someone using this device can gurantee that

Guest Countryboyo
http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/index...showtopic=76631 Lads a lot of people laughed at me when I started the topic in the link above but i wouldnt be surprised if it becomes the last resort. farmers wont care if there are rabbits in them burrows or not, they will do whatever gets the job done fastest, providing no sport for hunters. In spain and france these release programmes had to be put in place because of the lack of rabbits. something we may have to consider.

SEAN3513 7
my opinion.................very bad idea, even on empty warrens. plenty of options without resorting to mass destruction. cheers sean

Very well ive built a large pen as a half way pen. i will be releasing rabbits in here for a few months so they will be able to breed and establish a colony. then I will release some as they increase in number. Guest Ralfy II
If you enjoy the countryside , the air, & exersise with the bonus of fresh meat & a healthy living..get out the house, buy some ferrets , get a shotgun & go approach a few freindly farmers, prove ya can do what ya say...bingo, ya laughing, all for nowt..It cost them farmers £100's thousands to get there, you can have it for nowt !! Just do the job for them, (rid the rabbots etc) respect there livelyhoods, homes & enjoy ! Edited March 12, 2009 by Ralfy II
