Guest little lurcher
today was going to be a relaxing day for me , i had the carer coming in to sit with my eldest whom is disabled so me and alfie could go do something? well we decided to go ferreting , however then Thomas my eldest whom cant even walk decided he was coming to , which then involved bring the carer !!! the trooper was loaded with dogs nets the ferret , kids and carers and my lazy day of doing nowt was cancelled lol, so at 2pm off we all trundled to a bit of new permission i had to have a look at , away we went complete with flasks , cold drinks and various sweety crisp things full of e numbers lol we arrived and knocked at door , to be shown what needed to be cleared, well i couldnt believe my eyes at the damage caused by the rabbits, over 40 acres unable to be used!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! grazing land totally unsafe to use i was unable to get the truck there so i asked what other areas needed doing , i really must learn to open my eyes, the place i had parked was desimated by the bdooly things , this was right beside the road too , so away we went breaking every rule in the book , having a ball!!! kids were out picnicing beside where i was trying to ferret, the ferret evven had a little snack as well as whippets and lurchers even the odd human had a nibble !!!! my eldest thought it was great , his job was to get the drinks for us ferret was entered and very soon we had a bolter and he was in the bag , i hadnt netted up so 2 then were missed due to the landowners daughter not slipping when told too , we then dug to another grabbed him , then showed the girl how to skin and gut then ferret was lost so a bit of a bollox there , but a recce round the field showed me more hotspots of bunnies and i will go back there very soon as we were packing up , i saw a bolter , the whippet grabbed its arse as it went back but then there was a squeal and yep there was mr cheese the ferret , who then prompty came running to me to be picked up , we couldnt find the bunny even though we dug ? we have had 1 of the best days ever , even if the number was low and we broke the rules , my alfie was running up and down getting excited thinking the bunnies were coming , lots of yapping going on with the land owners daughter etc , and the special part was doing this with my son whom isnt really cut out for that type of thing being unable to walk , but he was so important to our team , just having him there made it special for me thanks for reading , i hope you can understand why im so proud Quote Link to post

Rolfe 2
What a lovely heartwarming story to read.......i bet you are so proud and so you should be. Often the simplest of pleasures are the most rewarding and just the look on peoples faces often say's it all. Well done to you all.....and make sure you do it again very soon.........but slim that fat-arsed ferret down first and you might bolt a few more With Best Wishes Rolfe Quote Link to post
