Deker 3,491
Sorry chap but I am always confused by this sort of post...you have been recommended a 20 for this task.....who by, why, what was the justification or rationale...why did a 20 come out as the tool of choice?????? Moderated shotguns are available!! Quote Link to post

Sterry 0
get a Rifle like a .22lr or .17HMR will do both bunnies and foxes (foxes little bit closer with .22lr) Quote Link to post
Guest air gunner
I cant get a rifle on my land so it has to be a shot gun 20bore was suggested because its a good all rounder. what do moderated guns sound like? Quote Link to post
Guest air gunner
Baikal .410 Single barrel Hushpower. what do you guys think of this gun it says quiet as an air rifle. anyone know if this is true? Quote Link to post
Guest air gunner
i looked on the trusty utube and bloody hell the guy uses a single barrel and boooom he then uses a special round high velocity of something. then he uses a silenced shotty its like an air rifle you can tell because he uses an aas200 and the noise sounds just like the moderated shotty brilliant. doddsy1970 9
Baikal .410 Single barrel Hushpower. what do you guys think of this gun it says quiet as an air rifle. anyone know if this is true? I have a moderated 410 and it is quieter but i wouldnt say as quiet as an air rifle. What you do notice is it is alot louder in and around enclosed areas. Quote Link to post
Guest air gunner
The land i am on is not bad there is an unused field one side but it has a railway on the far sid the farmer also doesent want me shooting on it becasue his friends etc walk their dogs. on the left its open huge gardens that the owners never use straight ahead its some big crop fields so its not enclosed it should be ok about waht distance can you hear a moderated shotty? 100yrds? A 12g is the BEST all rounder, thats why there is dramatically more ammo and gun choice than any other guage! Nothing wrong with a 20, and I'm after one myself, but it definately isn't the best all rounder! Quote Link to post

humperdingle 0
I have a 12g Pedretti Hushpower - Just bought it, but it's up for sale so I can buy a moderator for my .22-250 ('Cos it's VERY loud!) Used with subsonic carts (1100 fps or so) they are very quiet from just a short distance away. To be honest, ANY calibre of shotgun will kill rabbits as long as the gun is pointed in the right direction. If you're interested in one, PM me. I'll put a thread up in the for sale section, although it's on other forums. http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/index...showtopic=87687 Edited February 18, 2009 by humperdingle Quote Link to post
