OUT TODAY

Recommended Posts

Arrived at the top of the burn for 9:30am,grey sky & N/W breeze however all the snow had gone  .On my yomp over to the land,a few rabbits ran for cover in the adjacent fields so things looked ok.The land was not a wet as i expected as i quickset netted the first 10 holer, gave things time to settle, both jills in & 2 in the bag, good start :) the little jill was in a good tussle below so i put the other jill in the bottom end of the set & both of them got that one on the move,a large buck.

I moved down to the bottom of the burn to do the embankment & tree root sets, managed 2 out of the bank & 1 from the tree set,2 of the rabbits from here were just 3/4 grown.

I did 2 more sets on the way back up to the top but no-one at home.I reached the top & gave meself a breather & decided to do the 2 sets in the old cottage garden, they both run alongside the dry stone wall so i quicksetted them & managed to bag 2 from 1 set however on the other the little jill was with a stop ender, the MK3 showing 6ft :o after 15 mins she came out matted up.I called it a day as it was 3:30pm & i had a decent walk back to the car.Not a baby rabbit to be seen or pregnant doe in my haul,so might still get a couple of more mooch's yet....

End of day,8 healthy rabbits that always seem to weigh more on the way back!!!
