lanesra 4,007
All the thefts of dogs seems to be getting more and more, when someone has dog/dogs stolen every body is sympathetic but i bet there are people who thought it wouldnt happen to them and it has , its gettin to the stage where its best to think IT WILL HAPPEN TO ME maybe then everyone will be so switched on and paranoid (i know it shouldnt come to this) they will leave no stone unturned reguarding security, this still doesnt guarentee safety but it certanily lowers the odds of them bein stolen, so cctv is good advice , but the more security the better. lurchergrrl 1,441
The way things are these days, you'd want cctv, booby traps, a big fook-off guard dog and a few land mines out there. Mine lives in but even still ... I heard once about a woman who's house was broken into. Apparently of all the dogs she had they only stole her 6 year old spayed whippet You're not even safe just walking your dog down the road. It's a grim state of affairs. Hopefully this might make them think twice. What are your feelings on this matter? I think its all down to what we put a value on,, When I had my kennels they was stone built and very hard to get into so I didn't do anything other than to lock the door of a night,, even though my dogs were quite valuable, but when I moved houses and got into the koi carp job, and where I had moved to was full of thieving scumbags I had no option,, so I invested about 200 quid at the time and had a great little system installed,, It had two outside CCTV,s one on the house gabble and the other on an over hanging tree, about 25ft up,, and both had a 10metre range,, so if any one or thing passed within this beam it set of an internal alarm, if it was animal size it would put out a sort of beeping sound inside the house, (living room and bedroom)and activate the outside allergen lights and if it was any bigger it would cut into whatever i was watching on the TV and I would have a live link outside and it put on the lights,, it was a really good bit of kit and it was cheap, and lets face it lads look how much value do you put on your dogs,, its got to be worth installing some sort of security, ain't it,, one dog lost is one to many,,only a thought, ATB, Rob. Ps I might still have some info on the system if anyone needs it.
