this was #3 that he's killed. he's also sight treed about a dozen more. but i rarely carry a gun and even if i do i probably won't shoot anything. he's a lot tougher than he looks. in fact if you met him & didn't know he was a killing machine you'd likely never guess because he's so soft.

:clapper: a dog don't have to be aggressive to be hard. There's a few over here that could do with learning that.

i don't mean his lack of aggression when i say he's soft. i mean it only takes a stern word and he looks totally heart broken. just a very soft & submissive personality but death on coons & kitties and whatever else he catches.

good job Pops, the more they do, the better their technique gets. We've found normally the coon around and under 20 lbs are normally a lot more agressive and active than the big 30+ pounders ... not always, but more often than not.

Good job pops,..nice looking animal mate.

Ive found that the big running dog types are much better run with NO collar on, while hunting coon...the coon will ball-up on the collar, and can chew the living hell outta a dog...much better off with no collar imo...thats what we do anyway mate...get him on plenty, and he will be able to get it done with little to no fuss...we have three bitches here, that get the crap chewed outta them, big strong bitches as well, and they can struggle with a coon...my male has been on over a hundred i should think now, and can choke one down fairly good to be honest...but the learning was a little painful!..lol.
