Halfinch 51 Posted January 27, 2009 Report Share Posted January 27, 2009 If you NEVER want to dig, forget ferreting, i use both hob and jill, yes, the hob kills more often, but the jill has killed her fair share, i have never HAD to dig to either, they both come out, but i dig to get the rabbits they have killed, it would be a waste not to.If i had to choose just one, i'd go with my hob. Would it be ok to house two hobs together? Most the time, Yes, but sometimes they MAY fight during the season time, but that is variable, ive got 2 hobs that never fight but another. 2 that always do Quote Link to post

Ferrets come into "season" about March/April time until around September, Times do vary though, The Jill's generally need mating either to have kitts (not a good idea unless you know what your doing) or with VASECTIMISED hob or have a jab from the vet to bring them out of season The Hobs want to mate and can get a bit aggressive with each other during this time Quote Link to post

Guest Countryboyo Posted January 28, 2009 Report Share Posted January 28, 2009 I like a good sized jill that will work all day and leave the snipped hob at home for brining the jills out of season .If you dont want to dig look at snaring or trapping the burrows instead I wouldnt mind digging I just want to know how to minimise it as the warrens are in areas of very awkward digging. Can somone answer the question will two hobs fight if kept together and there are no jills around during the season. or do they only fight if jills are around? Quote Link to post

I couldnt sit Idley by while a hob gets bum fu**ed. especislly if the dominant hob was the size of the huge yoke in the other topic "Huge Hob" the victim probablly wouldnt be able to walk properly after that.
