Guest Magwitch
Richie and Jack came over to give me a hand in one of the orchards today but we didn't get off to a very good start as we drew a blank at the first bury we ferreted and only three rabbits from the next. So we decided to up sticks and move, and as the shoot wasn't out today we headed for a neighboring orchard and the sea wall. Things started to pick up at this point and the bag started to grow. I think we had a 2 and a 4 in stop ends today digging down to a massive 2ft. The weather held off all day with only a slight shower and the sun even put in an appearance so a good day and good company.......................Total bag was 30 and here's a few picture's. stealthy1 3,964
Well done Magwitch, very good bag, the rabbits seem to like the orchards, do they do a lot of damage to the bark? Quote Link to post

Guest Magwitch
do they do a lot of damage to the bark? Yes mate the farmer was telling us today that rabbits can kill the young tree's but the older ones can tolerate the bark stripping more. In the bottom pic the rabbits have climbed about three foot up this tree............. Quote Link to post
stealthy1 3,964
That is some serious bark stripping, they do the same at a christmas tree plantation up near us, owner rings me from time to time to go and shift a few, he's lucky in the fact that he can cut above the damage when he sells the trees.
