woz 260
dosnt matter how much you have to spend.....get a cz452 and get a brooks trigger kit fitted..the best bunny bashing rifle on the market.bar none...you can spend three or four times the price of a cz and all you will get is tears when you scrath your expensive rifle in the field.....CZ ALL DAY you will get a s/h one for less than £150 Edited January 12, 2009 by woz Quote Link to post
arveyboy 0
hmmmm that could be a problem indeed. typically a cz 452 will sell for around 300 squid give or take 50 quid or so. unless im much mistaken you wont anything new for less than 300. perhaps a ruger 10/22 but in my opinion they're crap. i used a friends at a range and it had a stoppage twice which isnt great. try going to your gun dealer to find a second hand bolt action. theres bound to be something about for that price range. it just wont be new Quote Link to post

richie 1
i have an cz american 17hmr & a cz varmint .22, theres nothing noticeable to me, but i could be wrong, maybe something to do with the barrels.. mine both have a heavy barrel.. ive only had the 17hmr for a few days but the .22 never misses a beat... Sterry 0
Im in the same boat as you here mate but been doin bit of research, i may not be right but here it goes : the standard is the base modle which has a curved comb and beech stock, the american and varmint both have walnut stocks with a straight comb (looks better in my opinion) however the american has a standard barrel where as the varmint has a heavy barrel. all are factory screw cut so that save a few quid. What sort of range can you get with the cz varmint ? i go out to 90/100 yards max using eley subs, ive found them to be the most accurate... others may think the same. Quote Link to post
mike white 1
Ok cool i didnt even notice the stocks were different , i think i might have a look at the varmint then as got to admit i do like a walnut stock. Edited January 12, 2009 by mike white Quote Link to post
