COMPO 54
My Ferrets spend all winter together in a large double storey hutch.....anyway at the weekend i noticed one of the hobs Testicles had dropped, so i thought i would seperate the hobs from the jills I left the 3 jill's in the double hutch and put the two hobs in the spare hutch which is on top of the double one... went out by torch light this evening to clean out, feed and water and check on them The spare hutch i had put the Hobs in...in the top corner of the bedding area....an inch square hole , the wood is a bit damp and it looks like the hobs have picked a hole in the wood and frame, its a good job i went out when i did or else they would have been away! Anyway the hobs are now in my other spare hutch (this ones very secure) the one inside my shed mounted on the wall.....this will at least make cleaning out and handling them easier as its inside the hutch is bone dry being inside and is in a lot better condition than the other (i thought the other was perfect as well though until today) and this one is all locked up as the shed has an asp and staple with padlock on! The double hutch the jill's are in is very solid wood a lot thicker than the other hutches and the doors are secured with padlocks when i have a day off i will try and repair the damaged hutch Quote Link to post
