Update on my lab bull greyhounds

if this breeding was 3/4 grey 1/4 lab or 3/4 of any running dog and 1/4 lab then i could possibly see a small amount of hope for them being working lurchers .

 

but from what i understand of it these pups are 1/2 lab 1/4 bull 1/4 grey . where is the running dog . there is only a 1/4 grey in the mix .

 

perhaps they would make good draw dogs preban . but we can't turn the clock back to the good old days .

Who was it threatening him and what opinion did he upset someone with? I know he had 2 usernames (the mods did an ip address check)and he was a bit over the top with us about LT but other than that i dont see what he did wrong. Nothing worth threatening anyone about anyway, that in itself is a bit childish, baz is old enough to know that the ones that make the threats are the ones not to worry about, probably just kids playing the bigman.

imo these dogs will be put in the same pigeon hole as heavy bull x's and alaunts....they will have there uses and no doubt will take game but not consistantly or easily enough for most people. definately a "specialist" dog with a very small niche to fill nowadays! jmo.

i don't know how many user names baz had , but i do know that in the phone call he recieved the threat mentioned a particular x breed . as far as i'm concernerd life is each to his own and i'm not getting involved with arguing over any form of dog which ever way it's x bred . our own dogs suite us and that is good enough for me . bright blessings for 2009

They are never going to bag huge amounts of small game but what they will be is 100% grafters and they will not be out of place running along side the more 'typical' bull x.

I will possibly be breeding them in a few years to a 3/4 grey 1/4 bull of the right type, just want to see how they go with the work first.

 

They'll be right out of place if something nasty grabs your Bull-a-like by the nose, let's see how much "the same as a Bull X" they are with a big set of teeth clamped around it's muzzle, I reckon we'll all be able to hear it screaming up and down the country!!!

No there is not another litter of bull lab greyhounds on the way. these will be tested hard before i decide what to do with the cross and i will work them and decide how best to improve the line, if its lacking speed then ill add some more g/hound blood if its lacking aggression in the feild then ill do something to change that in any future matings.

The dam and sire are tested and im not justifying anything, just keeping those that are interested up to speed on their progress.

Why should i go away quietly, I enjoy sharing MY experience with MY dogs, thats what this forum is about not the slagging off and bitching tht is becoming all too common on here. And the lad you are singling out is just that, a young lad, but he's a nice lad and he hasnt done anything to deserve the bully boy tactics you throw around. No one said you should go away quietly, I said that instead of apparently breeding to sell puppies you perhaps would have been better to unveil a tested product, not to appear to be justifying an unnecessary cross, why use Labs when there are proper tested dogs out there?

Ah, i see where your heading with this one, yes i do have a litter due bull cross but a puppy peddler i am not. I take great care of my dogs, i breed responsibly, my bitches will have a litter maybe every 4th or 5th season. I sell my pups responsibly and care about what happens to them. i keep in touch with all their homes and monitor their progress. I always keep at least one pup back from every litter and bring them on myself to a high standard. I dont see anything wrong with that. I have a good name in our area and thats why i get people asking me to rehome their dogs, because they know i am responsible and care about what happens to the dogs, even if they are not mine so please dont try to undermine me. If the lads who bought pups from me want their money back at any point then thats what they will get but i personally cant see it happening as i said im in touch with all the homes. The bit i put up 'a few on here will soon be eating their words' that was a tongue in cheek statement and i didnt mean to cause offence, just i think they are going to be alot better then everyone expected them to be.

No im not breeding from the lab x, they are only 7 months old, a good few years to go with them yet. The dog and bitch i have used in this mating are both 110% grafters, dog is 1st cross bitch is 3/8 5/8. I have the gimp line in my kennels which so far i have found it to be one of the best ive ever seen/worked with. I have a dog and abitch that are litter pals so i want to get as much gimp in the resulting line as i can so i have used the dog over an unrelated bitch to keep 2/3 pups back and breed from with the gimp bitch after a decent amount of work.
