Guest jbswildlife
the rat attack smoker has been available for some time now, but is it becoming a valuable tool to the ratting folk or is it just a waste of money item.
8shot 192
an old chainsaw or strimmer is just as good imo
stubby 175
either the rat attack, or an old strimmer/chainsaw engine will do the job, but like every tool, job location would depend which one is used, any farm or land area, not surrounded by residents, and an old engine suits fine, but what if the job is a hospital, or old folks home, they wouldent want the drone/reving of an engine all day, thus the rat attack would come into its own, quite and non toxic

akton 15
I have known folks to use smoke pellets, the ones used to see if your chimney flue is blocked,These only work out 2 quid for 10 pellets and do the business,as they create 8 - 10 sq meters of smoke per pellet,but...they are toxic,so user must wear gloves and be careful not to inhale any smoke
stubby 175
they are toxic,so user must wear gloves and be careful not to inhale any smoke so a good reason NOT to use them then

Guest jbswildlife
i always thought that the chainsaw method with its noise caused confusion and fear into the rat, making it bolt in total fear, might be wrong. thats why i,m asking if anyone has used both over a period of time ,and what they have decide was the best method
