Recommended Posts

im going to be getting a pup this time next year(i want to take my time and find the right cross and breeder first so i get what i want) and was wondering. i no people use wheaton crosses for fox alot, but no one ever talks about other quarry the excel at. are they anygood at along nights lamping foxes, or pre-ban taking hares and deer, obviously some first crosses might be to heavy for hare pre-ban but what about 3/4 bred dogs. your advice would be appreciated

good luck in your search mate... i searched for a very long time and found nothing that would suit... its not that common a cross and what you'll get is alot of chancers sensing your enthusiasm and putting they're arm in you mate... i got a wee bull cross bitch instead and sometime in the future i'll put her to a good wheaten cross and keep back a rough coated pup... i think that thats the closest i'll get to my wheaten cross...

lovely pup mate... was there not more saluki blood than wheaten blood in them though???

Spot on OS, the father to my pup is the same father to the pups that you were looking at, they have saluk blood in them, but the mother was a deer/wheaton x.

She is flying at the moment, more than happy with her.
